Maybe a more apt comparison would be Burgus Plus..? Nevertheless, I agree with the last two points above. And furthermore I’ve found Burgus Plus garments to be of great quality, especially for the price. This shit seems entirely built on ‘nerdsumerism’ [emoji851]

I have to admit the idea of 32oz denim has always intrigued me, but apart from that the whole concept of N&F just does nothing for me. That their production standards can be as poor as this means I'm now thoroughly uninterested in them.
The standard NF fare are manufactured in Canada. However, the 32oz are manufactured in Japan by one of the two facilities they convinced to make them. They had two early runs, and one most recent run. They had to beg and plead this last time around because they broke so many machines the first time. I will say, the 32oz are a marvel of construction. By no means are they the most well built pair of heavyweight denim, but they are very likely the best built pair of 32oz jeans. Every other attempt at constructing a 32oz jean looks a newbie learned to see on them. I have an indigo pair from the second run and a black pair from the third run. I will post some more detail shots and critique on construction details when I get home, but I'm in Japan now and don't have access to them at the moment.

Going from Iron Heart (or most Japanese brands) to N&F is very likely to be a disappointment. It’s a complete different league (and also a different target audience).
Agree 110%
I own both and I am not going to lie, I love how some of my N&F fit me but the few pairs I have had have literally fallen apart with very little wear. More then any cheap Levis ever have. I have/had 2 pairs that lost the patch, started ripping at the pocket corner, belt loops came off, etc. I was riveting them all back together. All with less then probably 20 wears each.
But then I have a pair of I want to say Elephant 2s (maybe 3s) that I cut into shorts for summer festival season like 3 years ago now that i have wore the piss out of, lots of sitting on concrete, grass, stone, rock, etc and i dont think there is 1 lose thread on them. They are SOLID.
Maybe just A QC issue?

Pretty pissed off at the moment. Kinda regret buying the street fighter jeans, because got hit with £100 tax and duty. I was ok with original price, but £100 on top is not ok for these jeans. The quality of construction is nowhere near worth such a price.
It says on their site and also an Tate&Yoko rep on reddit told me that there should be no taxes payable for UK/EU due to the CETA agreement.
This agreement is pretty new so I'm apparently the first person from EU who has bought from them.
I have been advised to contact fedex and ask for what forms are required to get fees waived. From what i've been reading, not sure this is how it works. Think Fedex would have to appeal on my behalf and if it fails i have to shell out over £50. Anyway I have got a ticket created with FedEx and waiting to hear back.

You will be able to reclaim any duty you paid via the couriers brokerage team, but taxes (and their fucking admin fee) wont be refunded.

Hey, @sisterray I'm curious about your elephant 6. How are they?
-
Hi @sabergirl,
I was a bit disappointed with the construction, I do like flat-felled seams on the inside of the leg. The stitching was a bit squiggly in some places. Also front pockets are a bit strange, quite wide, the coin pocket seems to cause a strange fold just above it.
I got them in the Weird Guy fit, and in retrospect I should have gone for the smaller size. I'm also not a massive fan of tapered jeans, they tend to bunch up at the knees.
I do like the denim, I have had broken twill jeans before but in a much lighter weight, but I have not had enough time to get a lot of wear in them.
There is a good post on reddit which shows more worn in pair.

Cool. Thanks for the info! I found some of these on sale, and since I couldn’t get heavy broken twill out of my head, I’ll probably pull the trigger. I’ve never actually had a pair of n & f, because the measurements only look off, somehow. Maybe it’s time to find out!

@Niro.
I also ordered at Tete+Yoko the 32 oz pants in sz 31. I got the item 4 days after order (by Fedex). Thats amazing.
Also German Custom wanted to have some money.
I called them, said something about Ceta. They told me I shall send an original invoice to them whitch includes signature of sender, declaration that pants are made in Canada and the place from where sender shipped item.
I still waiting for refund of custom fees. -
@twin.
Nice fit.
What is the tag size? -
@Eisenherz The tag size is 34
-
@Eisenherz ahhh ok that's good to know, thanks.
So you paid fedex and then contacted german customs yourself?
I am going to ring Fedex, because it's been 20 days since i sent in the ticket and have got no reply back. £12 is small in grand scheme of things, but I should not have to pay their extortionate admin fee for their or customs mistake
-
@Niro.
Yes.
Problem is that tete+yoko did not declare that pants are made in Canada.
I called Customs and they told me I should late filing invoice. I'm waiting now for refund.
Will report back, if Customs pays back.
But German Authority needs much much much money.
