Yep. Beauties.

So , I’m usually a Visitor on most forums and really just take without giving back! It’s a new year and well , I’ve got shit to show and say!!!
Anyways , love this forum and love me some Ironheart and wescos, just put an order in with Kyle at bakers also. Pair of engineers , Blue/ Black cxl with typical upgrades. Looking forward to them!!! Here are a few I have ( there are others) lol
The main reason I love this forum is I realized I’m not the only one with a sickness for these quality goods!!! -
Ok I felt really bad by not putting my oldest pair up.
They go well with LV don’t ya think? -
Thanks for sharing @J-diddy.
Nice Wescos you have and can’t wait to see the new ones.
I love Kyle and I love Bakers. They have always had top notch service and have always taken very good care of me.
Yes he has always been top notch and great customer service as you said. He even went as far as to track down the dark navy cxl for me and shipped to wesco.

Those are fucking amazing. Wow, how old are they?
Yeah thanks , honestly I’m not sure but it was my first pair so guessing 15-20 years or so. Had them resoled
Once. They have stuck around , I’ve had a few come and go but these bad boys are mine forever! They have seen some shit!!!! Literally -
Great post @J-diddy ! I'll take the opportunity to ask you several questions.
Great to see your three engineers lined up to allow comparison of toe types. I generally like the low profile toe engineers but I've started considering the other ones as well. What does Wesco call the three types of toe profile? I may take the plunge this year… Related question, do you take the same size regardless of toe type? Do they fit you the same?
Also, are these all custom orders? I see all three have uninterrupted leather heel stack...which I REALLY like. But I usually see heel stacks with the rubber sole cutting through the heel stack.
Your last boot, the olive LTT is beautiful. Would you mind sharing the build details for it? Is it a custom order? Do you size the same on the LTT as the engineers?
Apologies for so many questions but your post hit on several of my Wesco desires!

@motojobobo I’ll take some of the pressure of @J-diddy … [emoji1]
To get the uninterrupted stack on a Wesco you need to go with the Vibram #705 sole (there are other soles that do this but that’s the option Wesco use).
Wesco have four basic toe shapes on their pull-on boots, the standard Boss (which you can also get in the «bump toe» variant, I think the boot to the left may be a bump toe Boss), the Motor Patrol (which is possibly the low profile toes seen in the middle), the Harness toe (squared off) and the Western toe (used on Wesco Morrisons). All are available for custom Boss builds.
Sizing between lace ups and pull ons is tricky but the Jobmaster (the LTT boots) and standard Boss sizing should be the same. Some people might need a wider boot with the MP or western lasts although which leather you choose may influence this as well.
Check out Wesco’s website, they have a decent build tool which shows you most of the custom options.

Yeah so I think @neph93 answered the toe and sole question well , I will add that the toe style really needs to be looked at with intention also. I ride motorcycles so the flat toe is more forgiving when shifting. He is right the Santa Rosa boot has the bump toe which is great looking but I do not ride much with these. I also bought these bad boys second hand and they were new. Previous owner I believed ordered his size but these are marked 8.5, I wear a 9.5 or 10 in most boots. I took a chance with measurements on these and it paid off. But I also believe that because of the bump toe it worked , if these would’ve been flat ….
As for the wesco LTT , I got those just recently off wesco site, no defects but was on the seconds page.
And absolutely great boot that again I scored on. They are breaking in nicely and are the perfect height for me
8’ . The others are 10 and 6 and these are actually perfect. I do have the build sheet on these but it’s the olive roughout, jobmasters , I believe Vibram 100 sole, red stitching which I love , tan liner. Brass hardware.
I wear a 9.5 in wesco but a 9 in the lofgren. The olive are 9.5e and fit perfect. I just ordered a pair on wesco engineer 9.5e also. It will have a flat toe or as they call it the mp. -

So this is my actual current line up on the engineer’s , I did warn you that I had a problem!!!
Also with a pair in que at wesco. They are all amazing in there own way . I just recently got rid of the black wesco in previous post because of a slight fit issue I had. They were great but I’m praying the new one will be perfect. Anyways just another comparison of toe choices amongst other options.

thinking about to eventually take a step up in my boot game as i found some nice ones in wescos factory seconds - what about the sizing? am i safe with "size 1 down from sneakers" or can i rock the same size as in red wings? also, is there much difference between the e and d width? i wear 9,5 d in redwings and wonder if 9e in the wescos could fit me… i'm sure some of you here have a lot more boot experience than a mostly sneaker wearing dude like me - thanks in advance!
-
One down from sneakers depends on the sneakers you wear and probably isn’t a good comparison.
I’ve had Moc toe RW’s in 10.5D that fit ok (a little wide, a little long) and were the same size as my best fitting Wesco’s (10.5E) so that might be a better place to start.
There is a of course a noticeable difference between D and E width but what width you need will also depend on which boot you are looking at. Jobmasters and standard Boss toes have a wider foot and higher toe box than Packers and the MP toe. Personally I like to go D in the former and E in the latter. Which boot had caught your attention?
Overall, I’d say that if you like the boot and the price is right, a 9E Wesco should be close enough to a 9.5D RW that it is worth the risk. But that is how I think about these things.

thanks for the quick help @neph93 - very appreciated!
i'm eyeing at some jobmasters - so if i normally wear 9,5D in red wings (with some room in length and width, just like you) i might have to pass on this one, considering the jobmasters are boots with more room and plus (as i just saw) double-E width in the 9,5…
the price is a steal. and from what i read the "defects" factory seconds are often not even noticeable... but that's what i first thought, they might be pretty likely too big for me
-
I think you will find that boot too wide. Of course there are things you can do (extra insole, thick socks) but they are imperfect solutions.
exactly, not a fan of such "solutions", makes no sense to force anything just to own them, i prefer to wear them comfortable. i'll wait and and see. the right time for my wescos will come another day thank you for the help!
