@Filthy:
I'm getting ready to put a custom Wesco boot order in. I'm getting a pair of black tie domain 6" Morrisons with raptor soles, round toes, extra toe cap, and buckskin lined. What I am wondering is: is the added strap a good idea or do they stay on okay without? Also, please suggest any advice or worthwhile experience you might have regarding a custom Wesco boot order. Thanks.
So it’s a regular boss last with a Morrison upper? If so it’s a similar build to the IH burlap shorties.
The instep strap can be used to tighten the instep if necessary but if you have a normal instep it shouldn’t be a problem to drop it.
If you want to go for a real hybrid boot you could get harness straps. They are designed for ankle protection.
Thanks bro. What are harness straps?

could somebody pls explain to me what 'GQ insider' means on IG? Is this a hipster hashtag thing that users use to solicit free shwag in exchange for advertising?

http://adage.com/article/media/gq-magazine-enlists-readers-promote-brands/294499/
Free advertisements for GQ and the brands they push.
But, likely MOST people using the hashtag only use it because it's a popular hashtag, so it makes it more likely for people to come across their pictures… That brings with it more likes and views, which makes you more "popular", and the more popular you are the more likely that you can leverage that for free schwag

I've decided on (and bought) a surplus pair of Wesco Romeos with the raptor sole. They had a pair in a 10 1/2 E for only $169… What a fortuitous find!
I was a little hesitant to drop a grand on a pair of boots I had zero experience with. Also, I'm itching to build a new gaming PC that is gonna cost a small fortune. So this was a great compromise.
The Romeos kind of look like this stock image below and were $100 cheaper than being sold online. I highly suggest going to the discount boots section of the website and seeing if they might have something there for you. I was all set to put in my order today and wanted to see the 3 different kinds of leather in pictures, so I went there and found the Romeos.

@Giles, how are those Scarpa's you wear? are they true to size, have you had to break them in at all?
Im walking up snowdon at the end of April and looking into a pair of approach type shoes. Not sure I'll need boots that time of year.

Thank you @Giles, Just the answer I was looking for.

I wonder how long until I get a blow out? Hopefully I can get another 5 months out of these before I need to do some reinforcements. I'm going to be so busy at work the next 5 months. I won't be home much. It's only February and I'm already out on 5 jobs.

^ I did this same thing to an old IHSH-46 I had a few years ago (pics in the alterations thread) - it kept the buttons closed and kept the older threads from starting to break.

Anyone out there have a photo of a chain stitch hem where the stitch runs off the edge of the hem?
I believe Nudie used to do this, maybe Trophy Denim too.

Like this?
That's from the Studio D'Artisan Tokushima jeans, 2016 version. The pic came from Heddels. -
Chris, you are a champ! Thank you!
