Hi, Long time no post…
I'm going to Texas and around southern states next 2 weeks, starting from next saturday.
Any recommendations, places to visit, rockabilly gigs, car/bike shows etc.?
All info welcome.Hey man, what part of Texas and what southern states?
Obviously Austin has a great local music scene that @Clint_D could steer you towards and if you go through Dallas/Fort Worth, @formulapfaff could probably help guide you around.
The hot southern spots are going to be New Orleans, Biloxi, Birmingham, Atlanta and possible Charleston - depending on your route.
I would drop in Dallas, ride through Austin down to San Antonio, hand east through Houston, hit New Orleans on my way to Biloxi and Mobile, head north to Birmingham and slide into Atlanta and up into the Tennessee Mountains.
That would be the best 1000 miles ever.

You have my sympathy. I got West London which makes sense but also reveals the major flaw with this test. It’s based on geography, where as in reality class and cultural background play an enormous role in British accents. It also implies a conflation of accent and dialect. Which is, like, seeeeew dumb, ya know. Fo’ reelz.
