Question regarding the Crimbo-sales:
Say I fancied a pair of jeans that's in stock but regrettably not in my size at the present moment, with a restock scheduled for sometime soonish; would I be able to take advantage of the sales price by purchasing now and IHIWYHI (I'll have it when you have it)? I understand this goes against the "items in stock" principle and I fully expect to be told off, but there you have it and I needed to confirm.

What actually prompted my question i.e. why I thought it's not entirely clear cut was the fact that during the autumn sales, size-exchanges were allowed also in a situation where the the size to be exchanged to wasn't in stock at the time of purchase.
This sounds rather pathetic/extreme poverty and while not being proud, I'm not hiding anything either.

I’m no expert on retail law but I suspect that the example you give is a question of good faith and luck. There’s a 30 day limit in the return/exchange policy. If you buy something in the sale in good faith that doesn’t fit, and the restock comes in while those 30 days are in play, then no harm, no foul. If on the other hand you speculate that it will come in and it doesn’t you’re shit out of luck (and should pay more attention to the highly unpredictable/occult nature of restocks).
Also, if you pay up front for an item that isn’t in stock then you are basically putting a deposit on an item to save it for you. IHUK don’t do that as a matter of policy.

What the consumer law says is not relevant here since the store is anyway going above and beyond what's required.
I had been looking at grabbing the last pair of 555-03 in 32 off "the advent calendar" which wasn't a thing this year and in the meantime, that pair found a new owner. Rethinking the situation I might just wait since the xhsib should hit soon and it would serve a similar, "dark jeans" kind-of purpose.
This has also meandered off from the thread's purpose for which I apologize.

@steelworker made us aware of some problems this morning, with IH website not loading properly when he tried to switch between US and International sites. Anyone else experienced any issues?
We probably won't be able to get anyone to take a look before Thursday but would be great to get as much info on this as possible.

Switching between localities works perfect for me on Safari + iOS 12.1.1.

I also experienced this issue when IH had introduced the US version of the website approximately a few months ago (Chrome on Mac OS X). I couldn't return to the international version for some reason. The solution was to wipe the cache and etc.
PS: I'm not affected by the issue anymore, just wanted to contribute

Is there a way to add multiple gift vouchers to your account? I have 3 I would like to add. Or if I wait until I check out can I do 3 in one transaction? I know in the past when I had a voucher it was automatically added to my account.

I thought you were supposed to be on vacation. I was deliberately not trying to bug you again. Thanks Alex!

Regarding the EU and Japan free trade agreement: anybody knows how this will affect jeans in terms of import duties and when this will be coming into effect?
-
Feb 1st. I have no idea how this will affect individual end user consumers. For a business which is importing items from Japan, they will have to provide a valid REX number on their commercial invoices. This should give them relief on import duties, but VAT will still have to be paid. As long as that business is registered for VAT, the VAT will be reclaimable, for individuals it will not. It is our experience with CETA (http://ec.europa.eu/trade/policy/in-focus/ceta/index_en.htm) that whilst that is what should happen, the shipping companies are confused about what should how to apply the new rules and duties still get applied. We can get those taxes refunded, but it is a shit load of hassle and we still have to pay an "administrative fee" for the privilege of the shipping company being effing useless. So basically, I am not holding my breath.

Thanks Giles! Yeah I guess the bigger benefit is for a business rather than the end consumer but maybe one can still save some money.
-
Even if it does work, the UK may only benefit for 6 weeks or so, because some twat decided it was a good thing to ask the people (who simply are not qualified to make informed decisions of this magnitude) whether we should leave the EU or not. We decided to leave, a decision that I suspect a large percentage of those who did vote to leave, now regret

Didn't you plan to have a branch on the EU mainland to avoid all issues coming with the Brexit (which I still hope won't happen but that's another story)?
