It does look as though the corduroy is only on one side of the pocket liner, with twill on the other. I might make it a full corduroy lining for warmth.
Construction challenges aside, not sure that horse blanket is the best liner for hand pockets. Something about the idea pits me off.

Second attempt…
this looks bloody good. would you not consider alpaca lined or is blanket just better or easier?
or maybe cord outside alpaca line interior?

ahh fair. looks great!

I need more mugs (glassware in general) like I need a hole in the head, but this won’t be the first time IH induced me to buy something where this phrase applied. Instacop.

Yes, you're correct that I was thinking the pocket bag would be sewn to the blanket and that it would interrupt the pattern. To me, that's a worthwhile tradeoff for warmer hands, but I realize that's a personal POV.
That’s what gloves are for

I think I'd mostly be concerned about what it did to the silhouette of the jacket. Truckers generally are worn fitted. Insulated pockets like that would be quite thick and spoil the lines I suspect.
I'm more in the "no hand warmer pockets" camp with this kind of jacket anyway. Partially because I prefer the cleaner, traditional design and partially because, like @gaseousclay I find a nice pair of gloves the most effective, practical solution to the whole "warm hand" issue…

Yeah. As I've said many times, if outerwear is not long enough to cover your pants pockets as truckers originally were, and in my mind, still should be, then it doesn't make any sense to duplicate the habdwarmer pockets that you already have in your pants.
I say take the win to all you heathens who like hand warmer pockets on truckers. Corduroy is a great liner for an insulated pocket.
Tough crowd.

I don't see why the silhouette would be thicker if the pocket is inside the blanket vs. between the blanket and the denim.

I didn't mean the pocket bag would be made out of blanket. I meant to say that the pocket bag would be positioned between the blanket and the wearer.
Based on the above I assumed that you’d prefer a pocket bag on the inside. That would create an extra layer of material at each point, potentially disturbing the silhouette. But as I said, I’d prefer no pockets at all for the cleanest possible look.
EDIT: I’ll add that despite my preference the pockets as they are in the pics above are in no way a deal breaker on this jacket for my part. The execution otherwise in terms of materials, denim and design look wonderful.
