Watches - another OCD problem
-
It's crazy how much they borrow from FF. The black panorama looks like a blend of the FF and FF Bathyscaphe.
-
Those SeaQ are very nice. A bit too tall for my taste (>15mm), and I would like yo see a profile shot. Still, very nice. I would have loved to see a dateless version.
The date window on the panorama date watches I've seen in the past were often smaller than for those with the regular placement. I wonder how they did those to be bigger.
-
@DougNg the Glashutte watches probably won't be out until September or October.
@mclaincausey I like the panodate model too. I suspect that the similarities to the FF are because both are based around the ISO standard, which was based on the Blancpain. And both designs date from about the same period.
-
@Graeme and both are Swatch
-
Numerous ways to do it, probably something like this, @JDelage
Or my favorite, this Lange approach:
Panorama or big dates are in my experience almost universally larger than single date wheel dates though, that's the point. -
Me+ alcohol+ this phone with internet are bad news. I almost blew my savings just now to buy a Tag Heuer Calibre 12. It's like the nicest watch I've ever seen. It's so blue and pretty. I've had one on twice at the Duty Free at the airport… Maybe next year. I need to save more money...

At $5400 retail, I think this one belongs in the other watch thread, Filthy. lol

@Filthy if you're interested in the Monaco, there are rumours that a fiftieth anniversary model is going to be announced next week. I'll no doubt post it in the other watch thread, so as to keep @scooter happy.
The other thing to look out for is the Bamford limited edition that Tag Heuer produced last year. It's got a carbon fibre case, so is black, which might match your wardrobe better. Unfortunately it's 50% more than the standard model, so will cause further damage to your savings.

Yes you're right. I was loaded yesterday. Sorry. @Graeme:

Wow that's nice. But there's no way I would pay $7000 for a watch. And I kind of had my heart set on the one pictured. But I would definitely be interested in seeing the one you're talking about next week. Maybe this means that the one I want will get even cheaper?
I requested this to be moved to the other intimidating watch thread.

No sweat. I was merely speaking in jest.

I usually post about G-Shock in the other watch thread but…

$70k
What in the actual fuck

^ i already struggle to find reasoning to pay 2k for that GPS watch. i know they're brilliant watches and one of, if not, the most accurate watches around..

Since bezel screws always mess with people's OCD, here's another article on them.

As long as it doesn't turn up looking like this poor Speedy!
And make sure that the GMTs aren't sitting on the desk next time I visit.

We can detect gravitational wave perturbations that are less than the width of a proton. I don't understand why aligning screws is such an engineering challenge. That screed would have been much more interesting and productive had it explained why that challenge is so insurmountable.
