It depends upon the type of tanning, the quality and thickness of the hide and how much you stuff things into the pockets….
It's the Horween CXL leather I believe. I've soaked it in water under the shower/ in the bathtub just like you had with your Simmon's Bilt jacket and I think that's when this started happening.

@cityofdelusion that could have warped the stitching in relation to the leather…

@cityofdelusion that could have warped the stitching in relation to the leather…
The stitches seem to be tight and fine actually but the lining and leather "puffed up" like a balloon somehow.
I wonder if there is a way of fixing it and if not, if I should just keep the jacket or try to sell it

@Giles you might probably have to add „Don’t try this at home“ when you do crazy things like soaking leather

@Chap I did it about a year before Giles actually…

People throw leather jackets in the wash machine. I don’t think a soak is the problem. After all, what would be the point of a jacket you couldn’t get caught in the rain in.

That and the fact that soaking helps breaking leather in/ molding it to your body (see also wet molding)

How frequently do you put your hands in your pockets?
It looks fine to me, by the way.

Hey Guys,
I have a size question. I want to buy a pair of Alden boots and since I never bought a pair before I want to get an idea on how their size runs. I am a 10D in Wesco's, Wolverines 1000Miles and Redwings, should I stick with 10D in Alden?
not sure if it's a bit late, but most of my boots from red wings to whites and aldens are the same size.. 8d in all. for aldens, it really depends on what model you're looking at because they have different lasts.. trubalance being the widest (usually on indys) and plaza being towards the narrowest end of it. if the model has a last that is on the narrow side, i'll recommending going 1 up in width and/or size too..

Hi @DickyGray . Iron Heart has never sold the 633 direct, but @kiya can let you know the Self Edge plans for that cut in various denims, it's definitely not been stopped.
-
IH International have never sold 633’s. They are a Self Edge exclusive cut. I heard SF were dropping the 301 cut, I didn’t know they were dropping the 633 too, but the IH website has never sold them as said.
There isn’t really an analogue cut. The 633 was a 634 with a taper from the knee down. The closest is perhaps the 888 in as far as they were both relaxed tapered cuts, but the high rise and fully tapered leg of the 888 marks it apart.
-
The 301 and 633 were both only available from there. The available cuts vary a little globally. Some cuts that are available internationally from the website don’t even get sold in Japan. Then you have the Pronto cuts made for Pronto in Thailand, although they do often show up here. Going further back there is the extinct Beatle Buster cut.
The 634, 666, 555, 777 and 888 represent the core jean cuts now, with some marginal cuts like the 461 and 1955 still being made, alongside those mentioned above.

Hello all!
The 633 continues to be one of the best selling fits at Self Edge across all the brands we sell, so it won't be going anywhere.
It's available now in TEN different denim styles: https://www.selfedge.com/index.php?route=product/search&description=1&search=633 -

After all these years not much has changed in terms of how much of an eejit I am… I can't find the AERO thread or non-designated leather jackets thread... Aero is now Simmons Bilt I guess?..
Anyway: daft question (as per usual)... Got my Aero Patrol Man jacket from G... It fits so fucking well... But: because it is new and not broken in, the shoulders stick out and look out of line... The actual outlines of the shoulders match with my shoulders, so it's not that... Just wondering what I can do to break it in even if just a bit to see whether it's in my head or actually a tad too big... Whether that's a normal thing (which I'm assuming) or not... I usually buy leather jackets 2ndhand... This was, technically, but unworn, so...
