Let It Snow!!!! Winter Sports Thread
-
Beautiful day with plenty of fresh snow to try and power through. Ended up having to drop my pressure to 1.5 psi just to make it up the gentlest of hills. Maybe it's finally time to swap to the winter tires!
-
Fantastic conditions for fatbiking today. Glorious sunshine, temps nicely below freezing, and a beautifully packed trail. Possible rain next week, so had to make the most of it!
-
It looked like this yesterday and it is still snowing and 4 degrees Fahrenheit, where it would normally be 60 this time of year:
Keystone's base is at 44". Wishing I was somewhere the snow would do me some good, and resolved to get out there this weekend!

I just discovered this thread because I’m wondering if anyone here is into Snowbikes?
It’s essentially riding a dirt bike in the snow but instead of tires you replace them with a ski and a track….
My dad and I just picked up 2020 Honda CFR450R’s with 2021 yeti snowmx tracks.
Here’s a couple pictures.

Now that looks like my kinda’ thing Brock
How do they handle in the snow?
And being 450’s they’ll have a decent amount of power, enough to get you into all kinds of trouble!!!

[emoji15] a whole new thing for me! never heard / seen such a build before! Wow![emoji12]

It’s so fun! If you’ve ever ridden a snowmobile then you know hard they are to handle and how easy they are to get stuck….
These are just the opposite! The handling is incredible and because they are so light they are virtually impossible to get completely stuck like you would a sled...
The Honda 450’s have the highest top end torque so they are most desirable for Snowbike conversions but you can pretty much convert any brand of bike and there are plenty of track options out there now days...

Can’t say I’ve ridden snowmobile… but as you say, I’d imagine they would be a real handful
I can see why The bike-riding ergonomics would handle so much better
Is it possible/ easy to convert it back to a dirty bike to use in the summer months?
-
Lots of people convert back and forth every season.. but it is 6-10 hours job I believe. I havent done it yet myself but I have all the parts to do so..
