IH-777-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo

Hi Guys,
I’m new to this forum! I’m Jeff and i’m a nerd when it comes to dry denim, then my first heavyweight denim is a fact! It’s a 777 in the 25OZ! The details and the craftsmanship is for real! Love it! But a bit in doubt for the size! Can you review this fit pics for me? Thanks in advance and more IH products will find it’s way to my closet!

The fit looks good to me right now, but they will shrink when you wash them (which you should do sooner rather than later), so how do they feel in the waist and the thighs? If those areas don’t feel tight right now, you should be good. Mind you, once you’ve soaked/washed them they will be a nightmare to button up, but this is normal. And it takes quite a bit of wear to really break them in, but a day or two of wear will get you past the worst of it.

Thanks mate! I must say they soften up a little bit after a day of wear! I not soaked it and doubt if i will do right now.. a guy i know didn’t do it and wear it everyday day for 4 months and then soaked them. What is the win for me to soak? Thanks again!

The fit looks good to me too. The win of soaking / washing them sooner than later is that you get all or most of the shrinkage out of the fabric early on. That way, your fades won't move. Since the inseam can shrink up to an inch, you could get considerable fade shift if you don't soak early on. Moreover, a soak won't significantly alter the appearance of the denim, or reduce the potential for sharp fades.

@Lowlander you make me so proud
@Heavy_blue Lowlander speaks the truth… get all shrinkage out before you start fading. As for the fit I like it. They'll be tight after a soak but will stretch back out to where they are now, or a little further.

LOL I'm glad to hear that @neph93![emoji4] But in all honesty, I'm just parroting what I've learnt from you over the years. I have always been a diligent student.[emoji6]

Thanks!! As well for the compliment about the fit! I must say i can take the waist, moving is easier (or i’m just getting just to) only think i’m in a doubt of is that the thick stitch around the hip seems to pressure around my hips and it feels not quite comfortable. Is this a part of the ‘breaking in’ proces of this beast?
-
Yeah that will go away after a few more wears. I have a pair of sweatpants shorts I sometimes put on under a new pair of XHS and I will wear them under the new pair of jeans to help stretch them out in all the right places. You can leave the top button unbuttoned to not stretch the waist too much.
-
I would say that's part of the breaking in process. This is a 25 oz denim slim fitting pair of jeans–it wears you before you wear it. Which strangily is also part of the fun. Or in other words, if they didn't hurt at least a little bit right now, you would probably have been wearing a size (or two) too large.

I'm going to retire early, I think… You've got this from here on in

No, no, please don't do that! You're much better at the jokes!

Thanks guys! Now let the battle begin and tame the beast

I also purchased mine recently (see my posts a few weeks ago). Even after 3 weeks, I'm NOT completely sure yet. I could hardly button up the jeans on the first day and yet now the waist already has room to spare (about .5 to 1inch). But even with a loose waist, I can hardly do an ass-to-grass squat due to big thigh and butt. And when I do, half of butt is showing. Hopefully time will sort this out. I'm also doing some lunges here and there to help. I really hope this works as I do think this is probably the best looking jeans I have. Otherwise I wonder if it would've been better if I had chosen a different cut (like one of the med/high rise jeans).

Wow! Nice score. Where did you pick that up from?
I just bought it second hand from a platform and it was for sell in my neighborhood! It was just like new in my size for a great price! Awesome find!

Thanks! I will check your post, i must say that i just stays on my waist and but and that overall there is no problem with the jeans! Only those thick stitches(specialy on my left hip) that is crushing.. when i take them of it’s stamped haha! But overall fit is great! So i think i just need to tame the beast!

Taming the 25oz denim is a slow, gradual but very rewarding process. They just get better and better.

@gniquil Thanks for sharing.
Different body shapes tackle cuts in different ways if you have a meaty butt and thighs (I do), then the low rise of the 777 can show butt crack. That won’t change much, but long tees and shirts may solve your problem. Otherwise I can recommend the 555, but by the sounds of things the 888 will be perfect for you.
The XHS will stretch in the waist about and inch. That is normal for all jeans. The thigh won’t stretch much however when the material softens they will become more comfortable. You’re a way off that.
