Repairs & Modifications

Thanks @Chap and I'm sure this would be done excellent in Gosport. However, since shipping can be a little unreliable and time-consuming* I was more hoping for suggestions how to get it repaired at my local alteration shop. They would just need to know what to do …
- One of my deliveries from Gosport is still held in German customs since March 18th.

I’m guessing that for the time being the crotch area is holding up. While the spots you showed seemed minor to me, if they’re bothering you then by all means have them repaired. I also think it would be totally worth whatever inconvenience to have it done by IH. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Your jeans, your choice @endo but if they were mine the only one I’d fix would be the back pocket. The wear on the fly and the busted thread aren’t structural problems. If you want a repair that is difficult to see then you may need a denim specialist, but again, if they were mine I would put a patch on the inside of the pocket and do some sashiko by hand to fix it.

I only would fix the loose thread on the front pocket… that would madden me
You're in Germany right @endo DC4 in Berlin offers a top notch denim repair service or you can ask @Iron Heart Germany

not on the west coast I don't.
Might be a couple over east like corlection or URAHARA (formerly godspeed store). Otherwise, I've use Anthill workshop, recommended to me by a mate in Perth. they are based in Melbourne and did a very good repair on my pair of resolutes (i think) look them up on fb

@Snowy perhaps could also help with spitfiredealer’s question.
Took my IH-666S18 in for crotch work (temper your excitement, I mean denim repair)
I was a bit worried but they did great.

Picked up a XXXL IHV-02DD from Grailed a couple weeks ago. Took the sides in a bit to bring it down to about L-XL but still with the length of a XXXL.
Haven't pressed the outer seams yet. Also, still trying to decide if I want to cut the excess on the inside and throw it through a serger, or leave it as it in case I want to remove the seams down the road. Also did it so it still had the original white inside tag no matter what I do.

@spitfiredealer the only repair shop I know is Anthill Workshop, which @louisbosco mentioned. They were on hiatus for a while, I think that they might be open again.
-
@spitfiredealer no worries mate. thought I share a photo of the repair work anthill workshop did for me.

I’ve posted this in the 805 overalls section but thought I would add here also because it is a modification. I had my tailor make sort of an upside down pocket on the 805’s so when the bib is down you have two front pockets. I think it turned out great.
-
thanks @Giles I suppose the tailor should get a little credit for actually doing the work
-
@deanclean really love the practicality of that mod! Couldn’t even tell anything was done in the front
-
I realized the stitches on my 822 were coming out. So I used my awl and some kevlar to repair them while preserving the original stitch as much as possible.
Final product

I got a new mod and I covered the pleather with a piece of XHS. Pictured left is my old old with the indigo duck. it faded to black from being so dirty. It's now my work mod and the new one will be my not at work mod.
