Viberg

I still haven't given up on these events though they squeak… haven't gotten a chance to try and lubricate the soles.
But I got a new pair of the laces because the rawhide one were cramping my style. My cat chewed the old ones and they broke. I would probably buy these laces to wear in other boots. They are so smooth and pleasant to the touch. Like IH 21 oz denim if was reincarnated into boot laces and waxed.

I'm pleased to report that the ani-squeak surgical procedure on my Vibergs has worked.
I drilled into the sole on about a 45 degree angle in 2 spots and injected a couple CCs of boot oil into the hole.

How is the anti-squeak treatment holding up @Filthy ?
-
So far so good.
-
Still no squeak and they are like new again! They are so comfy now too.

Hey @Filthy how'd you know where to drill the holes? I have a squeaky viberg that that’s very annoying!
-
Wear very thin socks and go for a walk. Try to visualize where the vibration of the squeak is on your foot and go from there. @Peterpiper

Super, cheers..

Good luck my friend. Let me know of you need anything else please @Peterpiper

They are going to release a bunch of old viberg service boots on marrkt later today and I'm thinking of maby grabbing a pair, any advice on the size? I'm a 10D in wesco's and a 10 in Alden Commando last. I was thinking a 9 should do the trick, maby a 9 1/2?

It's a bit risky to hazard a guess on sizing, but I'm a 9.5D in American sizing and am an 8.5 in Viberg's 2030 last, so for me it is a full size down from what I would likely wear in Wesco or Alden. Good luck @scarfmace !
-
Did you go for any @scarfmace ?
I went for these on the 2045 in cxl natural waxed, not sure they'll fit either and the no returns means they might end up for sale on here…
-
Any ideas on how to size these 2030 service boots? I'm US size 10 on Red wing and a US 10.5 on Truman's. I'm in need for a spare boots and this time around I'm considering getting the Viberg.

@the246guy here's what works for me. To clarify I'm 9.5D on Brannock and 8.5 in Viberg 2030

I have the SOP AG side zip Vibergs and I'm pretty sure it's on a 2030.
I wear a 13 in most sneakers and followed my usual rule of thumb for Red Wing / Lofgrens etc got a 12 — they fit but are snug, no thick socks for me. But I will say that my feet are on the bigger end of 13 — I frequently run into the problem of some 13s being too short, and I have to buy a 14 if I buy something like running shoes that need a real proper fit.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few vibergs start popping up on resale sites over the next few days with the no returns. Fingers crossed mine work out
