IH-666S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

You won’t see any difference in color from the 21oz for the first few washes, Kasi . A soak isn’t really necessary with 21oz.

They fade slowly, but beautifully, no soak needed, not is it wise. Just wear them like you hate them, wash them when they’re dirty.

Hey guys,
I just wanted to give some information on theae jeans in the hope it helps newbies like me.
I was really torn between the 777 and the 666. I also wanted to try the 25oz (XHS) vs 21oz.Luckily, I am an hour away from Gosport so had the privilege of trying jeans on in person.
The 666 XHS felt very rugged and durable and Graham IH was wearing a great pair that had softened up. He recommended washing them from the get go. Unfortunately they were out of my size. I attempted a 34 (my size is 36) with very little joy.
I then tried some 777s in 25oz. Whilst the 36 went on ok. The cut is definitely tighter and I had bunches at the back of my knee which would have chewed the back of my legs up. I realise they would also have provided awesome fades and contrast but as a bigger guy I readily admit I am built for comfort not for speed.
I then teied on some 666s 21oz. I can't be 100% sure if I would have bought the 25oz over the 21oz but I ended up getting the 21oz for a few reasons. 1. They fit really well. 2. They were in stock. 3. I will likely wear them for work so like that they will fade slowly.
With reference to the 21oz. I tried on a 36 that was about .2" from buttoning up. Luckily they had a few in stock and I managed to get a pair that were a tad bigger than the measurements suggested on the site and fit perfectly.
Here are my lessons for newbies overwhelmed like I was:
1. IH customer service is probably the best in the world (eapecially Graham) so if you are in doubt just use the webchat
2. As there is variance in sizes, cuts and fabrics study the charts. I could easily if ordered a 36 online. Not been able to do it up, exchanged for a 38 that was too big and then not know what to do so best to ask for a larger 36 if that makes sense.
3. If possible the journey is worth it to IH to get the fit perfect. I appreciate this isn't possible for everyone but as you are spending a big chunk of change it's great to get the fit right.
4. You will realise that certain cuts are not quite right for you and that's cool
Appreciate this hall all been covered but just my 2 cents.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I just tried to cover what I was looking for when trying to decide. Thanks again buddy.

@Kingsselvedge1 absolute pleasure to have you and your family down here and we are so pleased that you have left with a pair of denim that you are going to love for years to come and the insight you have provided here is greatly appreciated and very true.
Really appreciate the kind words and we can not wait to hear how you get on with the 6's after a bit of wear.
Look forward to seeing you down here when the XHS is back on the shelves too!

Thanks Graham. Def have my eye on those 666 XHS. Thanks for a great service and a decent coffee too

Thanks @neph93 ! It was definitely worth trying on a couple of sizes and getting expert advice (the advantage of being only 2 hours from the world’s centre).
It was really funny yesterday - I wore the same shirt and almost everyone’s first words to me were, “nice shirt”, I think sometimes before a more conventional greeting! Of course, we all know it’s true.

Nice score, @ARNC perfect fit.

These are my beloved Iron Heart 666S-21, just over five years old now. They were my first pair of Iron Hearts, purchased in Ueno alongside a pair of Oni. A pair of 555 XHS are being delivered to me today, so I thought I'd take the time to share what has been my favorite pair of jeans ever.
My four year old daughter recently laughed at how many holes my jeans had and I replied that they were older than her, which sort of dawned on me the moment I said the words. These jeans have been with me since I got married, bought a house and had two incredible daughters. They have been repaired quite a bit and probably looked their best about a year ago, but that hasn't made me love them any less now. It's going to be really, really weird putting on a new pair that don't conform to me and that are stiff as hell. I sort of wish I could wear these for another five years, but I know they're on the brink as is.
Pockets, crotch and knees have all had repairs done on them. I've washed them more than I can count. As time went by I washed them more and more.
I love the train tracks they've developed and I love some of the blowouts around the pockets and outseams. The combs are a bit soft looking, but these aren't very tight around my knees.
I have admittedly become an Iron Heart addict since I purchased these mainly due to the cuts and size measurements, but if it's good to you it's got to be good for you, right?

I grabbed these right around the time Snake Oil Provisions introduced them to their lineup.
After a few years in 555s and 777s, I think I’ve found my new favorite cut.

Straight out of the bag, I think the fit turned out just right! Couldn’t be more excited about my first pair of IHs. Thanks @Graham for the help on working through sizing and answering a bunch of questions via email. Now I just have to figure out if and how much to hem the bottom while still keeping a decent cuff.

Looks great !!
Well done on getting it right with your first pair.
Graham helped me out too with my first( and so far only) pair of 666s.
