EDC - What's In Your Pockets?
-
-
@the246guy I used some Mr. Leather cleaner and conditioner spray to saturate my pocket organizers and then put in the things I wanted and let it dry.
It helped form fit the pockets and hold my items tight, but not so tight you can't easily remove the items.

I got this vegtanned fob case that I quite like. It's very nicely made. I hated how the key always came open in my pocket and I used a rubber band for over a year to keep it closed. I tried making my own out of 25 oz denim and I stabbed the fuck out of my finger with that awl I have.

Ha! That's exactly the key that my folks have for their Jeep, @Filthy Thankfully I have an older Jeep (2011) and so don't need to deal with that bs. I will say that I really like that leather holder and appreciate the embossed logo a lot.

It's very nice. I hope all's well with you Luke @henry_david

Dammmnnn @Oaktavia I have to say that the ring in particular is epic.
Anyone in here carry a flashlight from time to time or fuck with Surefire stuff?
-
@henry_david I've got a Maglite Solitaire that is on my belt loop buddy. I also keep a Maglite XL50 that is either in my backpack or in my car.
-
@henry_david do you have a surefire? I keep thinking of jumping on that wagon

@Joberwocky – Yeah, I have an E1B Backup from 2008 or so and have a 9P-ish style one in my car made out of nitrolon in neon yellow (emergencies). I had a 6P back in the day but lost it and so copped an old one on eBay from the earlier 2000s. I'm currently bidding on an even older 6P from either the 1990s or late 1980s (I like the look even better).
Newer 6P:
Older 6P:
I buy them cause they're tough as nails and not because they have 15,000 lumens or some bs like that.

Update:
-
@henry_david do you like the punkt cellphone? How do you survive without google maps, etc?
-
I rly dig it, @68degreesorless. I've had a dumb phone of one kind or another for the last five years with good effect. It was hard for several reasons:
-
no GPS
-
no rideshare
-
no email
-
no MMS/group chats
Once I schooled my buds on not sending me photos or including me in group texts, it was smoother sailing. I then memorized the # of a local taxi service (415 333 3333 isn't all that hard lol) and began consulting Google Maps before leaving the house, writing down the turn-by-turn directions fo reference. I'd often end up not needing them as writing them down led to some sorta memory retention.
Overall, I would totally recommend it. I don't feel so beholden to being in constant communication all the time.

@henry_david thanks for the feedback. I love the idea of this and continue to think about how to make this happen.
