IH-666S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

Totally agree, look great to me.
. Thank you! I think the 777 is actually looser on me in the same size, as the 666.

Ever since getting my first pair of 666s 21oz, I've been going back and forth on how much I like they fit on me. I love the look on others, but when it comes to me sometimes I think they're too wide from the knee and below, but other times I love them more than any jeans I've ever had.
It depends on the look I'm going for each day.
I think I'm learning to appreciate the wider look to be honest, but I'll try the 777 fit for my next pair.
Here's how they looked when they were brand new. Since then I've had them hemmed just a little bit, but still long enough for a generous cuff. I love them with my Beckmans, Blacksmiths and Iron Rangers.
I've had them for about 8 months minus the hottest days of summer. Still unwashed/unsoaked, just waiting for them to need a wash. Still curious of how they'll feel incase they shrink just a little.

Looking good @rovdjurstorget and agreed. Wearing two pairs of 666S-21 in rotation at the moment. One with cuffs and one stacked

Those are definitely not too wide!

+1 they look perfect. Very nice over the boots with the cuff.
unpop op… slim tapered jeans are overrated on most body types.

. I had the exact same impression for a while. I am at 20 wears now and here would be my input to the discussion. In my experience this feeling of wide, boxy, below-the-knee jeans will lessen as 1. you get used to the fit and 2. (more importantly) the denim "relaxes" and is not kept so stiffly "square" at the bottom. As I rotate the 666 vs the 777 I find my love for the 666 to be supreme. The 777 has gotten the most initial compliments, but they are "sized up" and always feel like they are just about to fall off my hips. I am fiddling with my belt, shirt being (staying) tucked in, and always seem to be pulling up my pants. Whereas the 666 just hugs like a glove and therefore are much more enjoyable to wear.
BY THE WAY: your jeans look great on you. Not too wide at all. Just very much "under" worn. Keep on wearing those things with pride!

The point about the denim relaxing with wear is especially relevant. Soft 21oz 666 fits great in the top block and drapes beautifully down the leg (same goes for worn XHS).I’ll add that 21oz won’t shrink anyway.

Thanks for the kind and informative words, all of you. You're all right, and I'm looking forward for them to show more wear with the first wash. I might update with a more recent picture soon since those first pictures were taken 8 or so months ago.
Is it even necessary to soak these? Or should I just wash them when needed?
I really do love these jeans, and I'm over the skinny fit. It's just that I'm really curious about trying the tripple 7's.
-
@rovdjurstorget the denim is sanforised and one washed so you will not need to soak them, the 21oz is nice and soft from the get go. You will hear many opinions on how and when is the right time to wash! I am not fussed and go by the rule that if they smell/have dirt on them, they go in the wash!
Edit: I even accidentally tumble dried my 14oz black/black denim for approx. 20 mins the other day before realising in horror where they were. They survived

It is not necessary to soak at all. They are fully sanforised, will not shrink. If you want all that rigmarole then UHF is coming soon.
Trying different cuts is awesome. Expensive, but awesome

They look great man. Absolutely not wide at all. Great look and timeless. Modern but not trendy and definitely mature. Thats the beauty of the 666/634 cut. Personally i think some of those extreme tapers i see look downright ridiculous. Great job!!
-
There is nothing wrong with that 666 fit. It looks spot on. Try stacking it and it will look even better.

I've tried stacking them but they're a little too long for it to look good on me.
I'd need another pair to have them perfect length just for stacking, and these just for cuffing. Beware of what you wish…There's something extra cool about having quality selvedge without the need to show the selvedge ID.
I enjoy both looks honestly.
@Tago Mago Great look! Loving the peacoat.
-
Thanks @rovdjurstorget . For what it's worth I think the fit looks great on you. I'm actually considering a 555 or 777 as my next cut. I feel that a slightly narrower hem would look better with sneakers. I've got a long weekend planned in London in May, so hopefully I can squeeze in a day trip to Gosport to try some cuts and denims
-
Slightly envious, since I don't have any Iron Heart store nearby where I live. I have to calculate every inch when ordering online and luckily it mostly works out.
I'm with you there. As much as I love the 666 cut, I do sometimes long for the triple 7's.

Rivet & Hide have a large range of IH jeans. They are in the centre of London. You should get to Gosport if you can, but you can still try out cuts if you can’t.

On my list as well, although I wasn't aware that they stock almost the entire range. Thanks for the heads-up!
