Yeah she's a cool person, a very hard worker. I remember realizing at a certain point that the music industry is a really tough slog, and a work ethic like hers is what I really needed if I wanted to get anywhere. In the end, I definitely don't think I was cut out for it
I always get a kick out of hearing people bring her up, makes me happy to see her success. She's earned it!

A haunting melody. I really love KC and that song in particular.
Speaking of KC…. Seeing Fripp play Dead Kennedys gives me great joy
And I'm with you @popvulture it's a ton of hard work, and no matter how hard you work and how talented and creative you are, there is no guarantee of success.

I never viewed music as hard work, although I worked quite diligently at it. I worked quite a few jobs that I didn’t like so that I wouldn’t have to play music that I didn’t like. That was hard work. I was a bio-chemistry major in college, and was worried that some day I’d be sitting in a lab and thinking to myself,I could’ve been a musician. I’ve never found myself thinking I could’ve been a scientist.

I really like Pink Mountaintops (and Black Mountain) too. Great bill and poster.
Todays vibes
Haitian band. They’re great. They have associated with New Orleans’ scene and made a great album called HaitiaNola with many of its luminaries sitting in. They’ll be playing Jazz Fest this year, reason #1,000,001 I’m upset to miss it
Love this sort of neo soul jazzy outfit from Melbourne. They’re coming to Denver so I can’t wait to see them.
