I think you have to take everyone's words with a grain of salt, but it was interesting to hear George Christie's perspective in Outlaw Chronicles: Hells Angels, a documentary TV series I watched.

Well yeah man, the Hell’s Angels weren’t exactly a community service organization.  I’d be shocked if that’s the worst he was guilty of.

The Hells Angels club house was on East 3rd Street in NYC,and it was always said to be the safest block in town. It was around the corner from CBGB,and they would hang out and listen to music from time to time,never bothered anyone,and believe me,no one ever bothered them. Not that this makes the model citizens.
