Hi All - was hoping for a little bit of advise in sizing this denim.
I have the 555-21oD in size 32. Pre-wear waist for the jean is 32.6’.
Button was not too difficult up front. Knee is quite tight initially. After 3 months of wearing the 555 has now loosen up.
Not so good news is the waist has also stretched, to the point that I can put a whole hand in my pants without undoing the buttons :D.
Day to day it’s fine, I will wear a belt. When I don’t wear a belt, the 555 drops a bit low.Back to these jean, would I get away with a size 31? Should I soak these before I wear? If I soak, Will size 31 shrink too much to the point that I won’t be able to put it on?
Sorry for the silly question…

Send an email to shop@ironheart.co.uk with the same question…..

You will lose up to an inch with a soak. If you don’t soak you will lose that inch the first time you wash them. After wear the jeans will will end up around the same place they started or slightly bigger.
Further points of divergence from your 555-OD will be a roomier knee and a lower rise because of the different cut. There will also be less stretch overall. The XHS does stretch but not as quickly, nor as much as the OD 21oz.

It seems like the overdyed jeans stretch a bit more than other pairs, in the waist at least. Is that a fair assessment️

It is in my experience. I thing the reason is that the OD process affects the cotton fibres so that they give to pressure that much easier.
The OD’ed 21oz jeans measure smaller when new than their indigo «blanks» because of shrinkage caused by the overdying, but end up the same size after wear.
