Looking great everyone. loving the pics.
A very foggy morning gave way to a bright sunny winter day in Minnesota, and the fog left the trees covered in white.

I don’t have proper winter riding boots and i’ve always worn regular snow boots riding (which is dangerous in the stirrups), but that’s about to change. I have a pair of pull on, western cut Schnee’s boots made in Bozeman, Montana ordered. I’ll upload some pics when they arrive, but I’m pretty stoked. -
Chippewa are around about RW quality, no?
More or less, yes. Greg wears a nearly 6 year old pair of Chippewa engineers that other than a busted welt, are pretty solid.
I will say the leather on these is beefier than most RW leathers… not as stiff or as waxy as my Wesco burlap, but pretty supple yet thick. Also, these use a Vibram Christy and decent rollers. For $109USD they are more than worth it. We have a Justin Boot outlet next door to the factory around the corner from my
Parents house, so these were sitting there as factory seconds.. my
Plan is to wear them with chinos primarily as I got some sweet new western boots to rock with my IGW-101DSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My Justin’s have far outlasted my luccheses .. sacrilege I know.
And yes, I think Chippewa had a very made in USA aesthetic, and Justin has a global supply stream so materials and even manufacturing changes local with new ownership. I tried on some Chippewa postman Oxfords with a cork sole they made for LLBEAN years ago that they had some extras of snd was very tempted - they felt very good and super sturdy.
I know Justin uses a fair bit of Made in Mexico models, but I wouldn’t say that’s for the worse.. in the western boot world, Mexican bench made boots are pretty respected ..

Yep. My 555-03s, in rotation since August, as still as black as the black hole of Calcutta. Lol.

SBG takes a little while to start up, but when it gets going it fades fast. Wear them for DIY that doesn't involve paint, glue or other messy stuff, and you'll be losing sulphur dye in no time.

It’s like a home run derby out here with @motojobobo and @Gammaman and @jordanscollected hitting tape measure bombs into the waterfall. Just getting started too, geez

Filson -regarding the coat, I was gifted it from a friend who has had it in her closet for years, never worn after it was thifted a dozen or so years ago. It fits me a little wide but I love the feel of the 100% virgin wool and the hearty construction. My only issue is it feels a little short. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks @adam313 my wife and I love the outdoors. We have a trip planned to Sodona, AZ in late Feb to hike around the red rocks.
Thanks all!
