IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk

Can I get a fit check. I have to lay down to button up the top button but from what I have read they stretch out up to 1 inch. I love the rise and think that the creases on here look good so far. What do y’all think? Too tight or just fine?
Also I’m wearing custom wesco Warren’s in brown crome excel 7 inch height. Do the the jeans look funny with chunky boots?

The fit looks okay from these pics, but it’s pretty hard to tell, with the darkness, and barely being able to see your waist. Speaking from experience, getting 25oz denim to stretch is an arduous process. I’ve gotten to the point where I would rather be comfortable tan have my first six weeks of wearing a pair of denim be borderline torture. There is up to an inch of stretch in there. The question is, do you really want to fight for that stretch?

I am losing weight therefore I will fight for the stretch.

The silhouette looks great. Exactly as it should. But tightness around the waist is another thing. They will stretch an inch, and some of what you are experiencing may be exaggerated by the resitance in the heavy, stiff denim.

Good to hear they look good. I’m 6ft tall and 240lbs so on the bigger side. I’m surprised I got into a 37.5 inch waist.

Wear em with the top button undone and shirt untucked for a bit.
At least thats what a friend does…
Lol. -
About 1 year daily wearing.

yep, killer looking pair you have there @Phil. Those black arcuates are showing nicely in contrast to fading indigo on the back pockets

I just got my XHSibs back this past week from repairs. Wow. I forgot how tight and heavy they are after wearing my 21s while waiting. It feels like the repair tightened and shrunk up the top block a lot more than before… painful couple weeks ahead stretching them out and loosening up the rough and hard darning in the repair areas. [emoji30]
Anyone else have this experience?

I soaked mine yesterday. Although still a tad damp I tried them on this morning to check out the shrink on the top block.
I too am in for few painful days (weeks? Who knows) stretching them back out. Curious what others have experienced. I believe the top block will stretch back out, any shrink on the thigh and obviously inseam is the way that it is.

Everywhere that is put under pressure will stretch back to where it was, more or less, including the thigh.
The issue with crotches tightening after repairs is quite normal. The worn, stretched, fabric from before had been replaced by new yarn and the torque of the material is increased. Repairs will also take up more room in that area, adding to the feeling. These things will abate, to a degree, but my IH-666-XHS have had the crotch repaired many times now, mostly by my own hands and I use darning and patches, so now the area is very thick and stiff (sorry for the unavoidable puns).

I almost couldn’t button them initially and I had an “oh s**t” moment because I really love the fades so far… thankfully you’re right, it’s getting easier. Same with walking, since they were so stiff in the crotch area, having to literally grab my ankle and pulling my leg up to my knee to put on shoes. I’m more worried about damaging the area just outside of the repair area since the repaired section is so thick comparatively. Easing into it lol [emoji13]

That MAY happen with time, but if the person who repaired the jeans is at all competent they will have applied patches to the whole area where thinning has occured, plus a little more. It which case you will be fine for a long, long time.
The repairs in my above mentioned 666-XHS spread out beyond the initial whole every time I fixed them. However we are talking five years and many hundreds of wears, now they seem very stable. Totally worth it.

I feel like a bad forum member… I've been fading a pair of these for the Indigo Invitation II. I've kept up to date on that side of things but not over here.
I've worn these since October 1st with no days off and one soak.
