21oz Shinayaka Selvedge Denim

Yeah looks exactly like reg 21oz to me! Killer!

Update time!
This pair just got their second wash after another stint as work jeans. They are at around 100 wear days. Fading is starting for real, and based on earlier experience with regular 21oz, this is where things start accelerating.
The denim still looks and behaves like the flagship denim, although after the second wash, the elastane has given up a little, meaning that they don’t seem to have tightened up after seeing 40C water. They were much more forgiving to put on this time compared to when new and after the first wash. There is still stretch in the material but it doesn't need to work so hard any more. The elastane meant these jeans were always comfy even when tight, but now they are an absolute dream.

looking great after 100 wears .
Really interesting to read your review on them, and about the elastane breaking in after that second wash.
They look amazing at this early point – That color of blue starting to peek out is the best. -
Looking great. I agree that these could pass for the 21oz 100% cotton. I'll be picking these up for sure.

Me thinking about getting in shape after pandemic:
Me after IH releases stretch denim:

After I am done with the SBG’s I am
definitely copping some of this denim. Probably in a 555Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

After I am done with the SBG’s …
So some time next week then? Those things are probably shredded already knowing you…

Ha not quite yet. They did get another shower wash tonight as I got ridiculously dirty today.
I am not going to trash them completely, want to have a nice faded pair of black jeans rather than and trashed unwearable pair.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@neph93 that denim appears virtually identical to the 21oz lht as far as I can tell. Pretty sweet.

Having recently picked up the IH-463, I’m better able to compare properly.
Really, the only difference visually is the slightly darker weft on the Shinayaka, and you can’t spot that until they are side to side.
In terms of the hand, the OG 21oz is slightly drier to the touch. Has a more papery feel. When it comes to wear, the Shinayaka feels slightly more dense when new. That is dissapating now as the elastic effect is reduced. Obviously the Shinayaka moves better with the body.
When it comes to fading, I don’t think there is any difference.
All in all they are so similar you’d have to be a total nerd to spot even a small difference in appearance [emoji2327]

I'm just as bad. That was more of a personal reflection.
