IHDR-502-OLV - 11oz Cotton Whipcord Cargo Pants - Olive

@neph93 - a hero and a scholar - cheers.

These are on the way so I only have experience with SBG. That said, not having SBG is simply not an option. I agree with the above sentiment though. These aren’t a sure thing in the long term and seem to be more weather friendly. I’m also thinking these will be great for hiking. The super slim fit black on black 21 oz denim, not so much.
Just do what I did. Get a secret credit card and pay it off after buying something nice for your wife on the same card. Then tell her what you bought her was really expensive.

@Matt - dangerous games… you’re giving me ideas…
@neph93 - I swear I could revive that thread with the sheer amount of indecision I suffer from.
@Appfaff - thanks for the advice man! I heard you on the podcast saying how much you like these pants, and your fit pics here and in the WAYWT thread really helped in selling them to me. Not that I needed much help…
-
I am very glad you enjoyed the podcast @jerkules
To make it a bit easier to make your decision, here is faded and worn examples of both fabrics side by side.
I believe the SBG to be one of my all time favorite denims - however, the way the olive whipcord evolves is something of beauty, especially in a rustic yet refined silhouette of these tapered cargoes.
-
Really appreciate that @Appfaff - you’ve inadvertently made the decision harder though both look glorious in your photos and I can’t decide.
Easiest option is just to get both, but stagger the purchases to avoid spousal fallout. Since the 502 is potentially limited, I’ll get this first. The 555-SBG can wait a couple of months.
Cheers all!

I believe you are making the right choice - plan for both. You will appreciate the "ready to wear" whipcord in the heat of summer and early fall - and the SBG break in would be well timed for late fall winter..

Picked these up about a month ago. Started with the 34 but the top box was way too big, so exchanged for teh 33. The 33 is excellent. I prefer a lower rise in pants, but these work just fine. The material quality and general quality of the components is fantastic. I would expect nothing less. This was my first pair of Iron Heart pants, and they did not disappoint (already had 3 long sleeves which are also fantastic). For reference, 5’9, 165 lbs, small waist and larger quads.

Excellent fit on those Danwel1 - well done!

@Danwel1 excellent pickup and great fit!
Re: the sideways photos.
1. select to edit your photo and rotate it sideways. Save it.
2. edit it again and then rotate it back vertical. save it.
3. now it will appear correctly when you post.it's a weird and annoying phone glitch.

Weird and annoying for sure, but a relatively easy fix once ya know how. Thanks!

Here’s a quick and dirty back yard pic while the girls walk the dog. I went with a 33 but I think I could have done a 32, 2 sizes down from all my other pants. This was an expensive way to figure out my new measurements in the absence of properly fitting pants in my wardrobe. They should work though. They’re relaxed which I think will be ok. What do you think?
