IHSH-312-IND - Indigo Ultra Heavy Flannel Work Shirt - Buffalo Check
-
Thanks for completing the thought @mclaincausey - I had the thought in my head but had oversimplified in favor of brevity, so well said - the union component is a crucial one and as you even more importantly underlined - who cares if the longshoremen now work 24hrs if there's no trucks to put it on…ripple effects...
Seems to be trending in the right direction (viewed from a half full perspective...) after a tumultuous 2021 (to say the least)
As for "other solutions" not sure whether the trend will fully develop due to too may variables to discuss, but there is a not insignificant number of brands coming back to or revisiting "onshoring" their currently "offshore" operations. The argument for making in country (in US anyways) gets a lot stronger when the consumer (in the US) ends up paying the same $ due to current environment...so amen to curbing inflation - word to the wise, whatever you think is expensive now is going to get worse before it gets better...

Anyways - let's get back to talking UHFs - how bout them [insert sports team] as they say?

Yessir…. an all-indigo IH UHF buffalo check is about as compelling as it gets. Just picturing what these will look like in 10 years... I got away with the Barney UHF but the Western of one could be a bridge too far.... Unless they order too many Larges again

No, this is indigo dyed. We have never done an indigo dyed Ultra Heavy Flannel before….
Y'all buried the lead lol. I was wondering why these were priced a little higher than the others. I am assuming the added production costs of indigo dying these is the reason. Also explains the comment (on the western version) on the fade potential with these. Wasn't 100% sure I'd grab one of these despite how beautiful they look. Knowing that they are indigo dyed just sold me. Definitely gonna try to grab one of these in the western.

The sizing looks larger than most UHF’s that I have. I am typically an XXL but even my XXL with the largest P2P is 23.8. Should I stick with an XXL or go with an XL?
@Curt if it is just the chest and all the other XXL attributes look good for for you, I’d still go for an xxl and ask for the smallest p2p in the order notes.

I'm going to try and cop the scratchiest 3xl in this tomorrow and squirrel it away maybe, stack it for a while until the heat dies down. I can't pass up IH first ever indigo dyed UHF. I've made way too many purchases recently…
I need another UHF workshirt because I do not have one.

There has been some discussion in this and the IHSH-302-IND thread about the difference between these and previous UHF's.
This is the first time we have indigo dyed the yarns in a UHF, and we had to use a different mill to weave the fabric. Though the actual shirt construction is done in our normal workshop.
The dyeing of the yarn in indigo is more expensive and harder to weave than non-indigo, so this has resulted in a higher cost and therefore price of the shirt over previous non-indigo UHF's.
Also, the mill that we used for the weaving of the fabric has different fabric brushing technology, so the hand feel is subtely different from non-indigo UHF's.

Now I really, really want one. Can we get a closeup if the brush-ness of the outside and inside, please?
