IRON HEART FORUM "HOMETOWN HEROES" PICTURE COMPETITION - SPRING 2022
-
We had to venture out to our favorite local for chicken wings to salute the passing of our Mimi. It’s become a day of mourning tradition for us after the loss of our previous chihuahua, and Marcia’s dad, 3 years ago.
It’s been a tearful day, but we are so grateful that our perrhijo (combo of “perro” dog + “hijo” child) did not suffer, and lived her best life with us. [emoji174]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Last day today folks. Given time differences any picture with today’s date stamp in the post will be considered.
The Padmore’s, @jordanscollected and myself will judge the prizes and an announcement will be made early in the new week.
Keep up the awesome work.

Tempelhofer Hafen — Berlin
This is my corner of the neighborhood that I’m usually around.Enjoying the March sun ️

There’s plenty to see and do out here but my favorite is still just being in the desert. This one was taken just outside my neighborhood. At night all you hear is coyotes. In the summer I have to be on the lookout for rattlesnakes when I go running. At night when I go to the backyard to drink a beer I have to check my chair for scorpions. It’s totally different than what I’m used to calling home but somehow it’s home all the same.
Great contest everyone. I had a blast.

Sparky says I am super late to this party, but sure, I'll play! Heading home after a(n unusually/) pleasantly uneventful 24 hours.

For the final day I contribute a circumnavigation on foot of the island I live on, with some photos of notable architecture and the sea. In the blurry background of the picture with the ship (HMS Warrior) is the sign for Gosport Ferry, or the route to IHUK. In the sky is hundreds of helium balloons that a crowd let loose (reason unknown). The old cathedral without roof is probably my favourite building in town (reminds me of Spasimo in Palermo) but a close second is Clarence Pier for its theatricality, and then lastly the sea.

Greets from the slopes of Tyrol.
We had a phenomenal day of skiing in Kitzbühel,
my great-grandparents home town.I don’t enjoy how snobby the place has become.
But soon as you’re on the slopes, it’s all fineThe UHF kept me perfectly warm and dry.
Friends always ask me „why are you hiking / skiing in that frickin shirt??“
They understood, the moment they touched the brushed side -

Local place of interest.
At the top of this drive is a general store that opened in 1867 and operated until 1901. It is said that 4 years of locusts in the area caused the decline!!!!!. It is all that remains of a town that once supplied the areas residents with much needed goods.
