Neph’s new house…
-
It looks like it is definitely coming along with some solid progress. Looks great!

To much progress to document really… but here’s today’s job. We’ve extended the entré by a couple of square meters and I’ve built up the floor with impregnated chipboard and master board. The sparky was here on Friday so today I covered his heating cables to make ready for tiling next week.
IH-888-XHS taking a kicking.

Can't wait to see it x x x

I think this whole renovation was just to evo those jeans
They (and the side-project) look incredible!

Pretty much… [emoji2957]
The jeans got a real kicking today… first time I’ve ever done any tiling. If I’m lucky, I’ll be dead before I have to do it again [emoji28]

that does look like fun Reuben ::) ???

On the whole I enjoy the whole DIY/carpentry thing, but tiling is fekkin’ hard work. The best bit was having to buy an angle grinder with a diamond cutting disc to trim the buggers. Awesome bit of kit and thrillingly scary to use.

Nice!! How much more is there to go? …and full disclosure, lived in our house for 10 years and haven’t even touched the basement. It’s insulated and has a vapour barrier, but we put it off until the kids got older to decide how to use it.
Right now it’s the catch all, kids play area, craft area, and general f’n mess from all of the activities. Went down there the other day to get something, lost it, jumped on the motorcycle to cool down…two kids can write off an area quickly.
-
Ha! The kids will tear this place up pretty quick, no doubt. Ingrid will probably never go down there.
Two bedrooms are nearly done, the cellar lounge/tv/games room is half finished (ceiling, and half the walls left). There’s a hallway and a couple of storage rooms down there too.
It has been built up from a medieval dungeon by my own fair hand, and just the work to mitigate damp took months, so I’m not unhappy.

it looks excellent. Great work.

Thank you Sam!
So after over a year of living here I can finally declare the living room/dining room finished (except for for a tiny area of 6x18cm, honour and glory if you spot it).
To be fair it has been 90% done for ages but the entré needed fixing before I could install the door and finish the threshold between living room and entré.

BEAUTIFUL home nearing the finish line. Clean without being antiseptic, modern but still warm and homey, practical, comfortable… I know it's been a long painful journey but you have a lot to be proud of @neph93
