Changes to The Marketplace

Well, this effects me greatly. Going to have to start contributing instead of lurking now.

This all seems fairly straightforward to me. The forum does not drive any type of income or revenue for IH, it was a perk for enthusiasts who wanted to gather and participate in a community. There’s no responsibility on the part of IH to provide the forum at all, much less a marketplace. The forum helps IH stand out in the industry by creating a kinship among its fans and customers. IMO the MP should be viewed as a benefit for active and invested forum members. If all you want to do is sell and buy stuff, there are plenty of other platforms where you can do just that. This place is for the rest of us and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with our wanting to keep it exclusive. It’s not like we’re trying to turn away people who want to use the forum as it’s intended.

We love interaction, that is what this place is about. But we don't want to force people to post if they don't want to, every society has individuals who like to talk and those who don't, but unfortunately, every society has individuals who steal, one of the reasons for these changes is to make it harder for scammers to steal from you.

I'm from a small area–hard to find others into this hobby/lifestyle. Like a few others have stated previously, this decision made me try to make more of an effort to contribute more as well.

How about an exception to the people that have spent a lot of money over the years with iron heart ?

So, making 20 posts over the years and being part of the community is not really asking a lot…...
But I do get it, some people don't feel comfortable posting, then the quid pro quo is the marketplace does not open up for them....

There’s no way to implement that on this software. Even if there was, we wouldn’t, because this isn’t about rewarding or penalising anyone. It’s about preventing an increasing issue with spam/scams.
