IH-888S-21od - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - OD'd

The fit looks fantastic! I also ordered a pair just yesterday and I'm also 5' 10" I requested 32" Inseams and was curious what you settled on?
Thanks!
Everyone's inseam is going to be a little different even if they're the same height but I settled on 30.5". I took Neph's advice and measured an inseam that was about 0.5" off the ground when barefoot.
Post a pic once yours arrive. You're going to love them!

I'm going to be in Los Angeles next week and am almost 100% confident I'll be picking up a pair of these at Self Edge.

Cool! I’d assumed SE didn’t stock the 888 cut, given they have a regular taper cut of their own. Glad it’s available. Don’t be afraid to size down. The OD 21oz relaxes a lot.

@neph93 I called and the Los Angeles location has them in stock. Well, one 38 so I guess that counts. Thanks to your advice and the tips from others I have well fitting pairs of the 301s in 21oz from Self Edge and the 555 in the Vintage 16oz. From my internet research this model seems like the idealized combination of both cuts. This is all speculation, though. I'm tall and lanky but at my height of 6'5" my thighs aren't tiny. My main problem is that I want one of everything…

I guess you could say the 555 is to the 888 what the 666 is to the 634. The top block of the 301 is so radically different to the 888, but I suppose the relaxed, tapered leg is similar.
Really the 888 is its own beast though. While the taper follows a similar pattern to the 555, albeit from a wider starting point, the shape of the top block is different from hip to waist giving a unique silhouette on the whole. Very different to the 301 certainly.
The fact that the rise is higher and the top block tapers inwards from the yoke means you can aim to have your jeans sitting high on the waist. This allows you to size down. I’m a 34-35” waist in most models but can do a W33 in the 888. I’m wearing my IH-888-XHSib for the first time today. Pics on the product thread and WAYWT later so you can have a look. The super heavy denim works exceptionally well with the cut.

@neph93 Thanks for the info. I'm glad I'll be able to try them on in person.

Reporting back to say I picked up a pair of these in 38 at Self Edge. Photos don't do this fabric justice. The fit feels like these jeans were custom made for me. I'm looking forward to breaking these in.

That’s where I got mine [emoji6] od at that.

Maybe I am not as lean as I thought. Just measured the waist and it has stretched to comfortable 94 cm. Not bad for a size 34.
I am really happy with this pair of pants. I even look forward slipping into it in the morning. Don't remember the last time I felt like this with another pair.

They look very good. Funnily enough I went through something similar. Bought W34 in January, and the stretch is meaningful. I think what happens is that you have the classic 21oz stretch plus what the overdying has taken out of the fabric. End result they stretch a whole lot everywhere.
Decided that I could go down to W33 and when the restock came I pounced, figuring I could just flip my W34 for $$$ on here. They where tight at first but worked out just right after the stretch came in. In the meantime I forgot to put the W34’s up for sale.
Anyways, summer came around and I ate and drank, and ate and drank and the W33’s are currently too small. Luckily the W34’s are now perfect [emoji23]

Really interested in these, but worried about the thigh.
Anyone have a size 32 and can measure thigh from crotch seam then straight outside using Blue Owl method?
