IHV-36-BLK - Primaloft® Gold Quilted Vest - Black
-
I have an old IHJ-08 and it's pretty damn warm for being such a lightweight piece. I missed the first run of this vest but I won't be missing this one. Can't wait to see measurements!

Looks like this is rather thin. @Giles can you wear it with a T-Shirt under a Type III as a kind of liner? If yes which size would you go for? Thanks
This is an L over just a T-shirt and under an XL (22oz) unmodified Type III. And yes, I can button the jacket up…
It transforms a white-T-and-type-III into a seriously warm combo.

Would you also wear a large over a flannel and under a winter jacket such as the IHW-13?

I’ve never bought a vest before so I would appreciate some advice on the sizing from the vest nerds out there.
I wear an M in 95% of IH shirts and assume that’s what I would take in this one. Especially since Giles wears an L and is always a size or two larger than me. I plan to wear it over a shirt and under a jacket.
Reuben told me last weekend that chest measurements are slightly different for vests due to the cut of the arm holes, but I can’t remember what that difference is. Is it that vest fits larger than a shirt with the equivalent chest dimensions since the measurement is taken lower?
The length seems a bit short. Approximately 3in shorter than a shirt of the same size. Is that how a vest is supposed to fit?

I’m kinda bummed. The armhole looks pretty tight, probably too tight for me with a UHF on.
-
I'm just about OK with an XL UHF and an L in this, but it is marginal…..
I could almost upsize to an XL but it seems it would be blocky and loose at the waist.
I cant stand clothing that runs tight at the armpit. It tends to make me sweat, etc -
vest looks on par with all the crew does
both fits on this page have me looking at the products you have the vest paired with

I’d go M if I were you. The armholes on this and general design is different to type III vests and work vests. As noted the arm holes are smaller so closer to your UHF measurement is probably good.
I’d most likely go L over a henley and XL over a UHF/tee. I take XL in UHF’s.

Thanks! I got an M.
