Based on the sleeve length, I would say that you should size up. When the creases have settled in, the sleeve length will be even slightly shorter than it is now. As for the length of the jacket, it comes down to personal preference. While some prefer their Type III jackets to be shorter than others, I prefer mine to be at the waist line.
-
@VVV How does the jacket feel overall? I do personally love it and it’s the way that I would wear it, but @cityofdelusion has a point about the sleeves.
It wouldn’t bother me since I never button them, but they may be short as he suggested.
-
In the end it’s all about personal preferences but if i may be honest i would say size up. For example for the sleeves but also the overall length. You say you like the jacket tight and short so ask yourself the question.. is it to short and to tight even for your preferences? Also do you wanna layer it? Or are you good with a tee option only? in the end you need to wear it and need to be happy but my 2 cents would be that you are happier with a size up
-
I think it looks a bit short in the body and arm length I love a type 3 kinda short body fitted it’s a great look but from my experience if it’s uncomfortable ie sitting down bottomed up or it’s feels like a coarset I would size up,next size up would look right on your because you look like a big chap

There probably are wrong ways to wear a type III, but this ain't one of them
It all comes down to personal preference. That said, if I saw you on the street, I wouldn't point and laugh, i would give you a high five and compliment you on your phenomenal taste in denim jackets.
If you're comfortable, I can attest that it looks great!
Besides, everyone is going to be too distracted by your amazing hair to realize you're even wearing a jacket

That is how most IH Type IIIs (L) fit me as well, I like this fit over a tee but size up for UHF and the like. Yours looks spot on to me.
-
Thanks for the feedback guys!
The jacket is very comfortable, not too tight, i can move easily. I plan to wear it without layers, only with a tee.
My main concern was about the sleeves indeed.
So i think i will keep it. I'm afraid that the size up would be too roomier for my taste. Chest and shoulder feel perfect.
If the sleeves get too short i'll cut them off..... problem solved@Paul9221 said in RAWscore - the hit or miss fit and combo space:

New TWC mountain jacket and wanting to know if I shouldve gone to a medium. It is a comfortable fit over an UHF but might be a little blousy?
-
@Anesthetist ...looks big.
-
@goosehd I cant tell if it’s bc it actually is or bc the fabric is super stiff. I shouldve taken pics of it over a flannel, I’ll do that when I get home.
-
@Anesthetist It look fine from the front and too big from the side. Throw on that UHF and some heavy jeans and see how it feels. Does it have a dual zipper? That would allow you to size down if you make that decision and not have it too tight around the hips.
Looking at their website, the model in a similar jacket is showing the same "blousy" drape you are. https://theworkersclub.co.uk/collections/mens-outerwear/products/mens-shell-jacket-ink-made-by-mackintosh
Edie: i see this is a division road collab. may fit you a bit big seeing their model in a medium

Looks right to me too.

The two areas that I would be most concerned about are circled. The reason I have concerns is that I find with stiff fabrics the material would be uncomfortable and could fold and crease in weird ways, potentially causing premature wear and tear.
I personally don’t like a lot of excess material in the armpit areas and find it uncomfortable.
