@Matt well done sir… assuming you sized down to a 32 for the snug waist?
-
Bottom FTW?
-
@Matt @flannel-slut I’m going to go with the 34 as they feel so much better on. The legs are slightly trimmer on the 33 but the waist and top block on the 34 win.
I’m encouraged that Matt couldn’t tell which way I was going, but when I found myself wondering if I could sit comfortably with stuff in my pockets, the answer was clear

I definitely feel like they look better a size up! The 33s looked good but there's that little ripple at the top of the fly near the top button — that's always an indicator to me that a pair I'm wearing is a little small. Sometimes I ignore it, especially if a size up would be too big in other areas, but those 34s look like they solved all problems while still keeping a clean fit. Good job.

Comfort is key
-
@Matt I thought yours looked good but I guess it depends on how they feel. To a degree, I think comfort is overrated but I know what wins if it comes down to a choice of looking good and breathing!
Maybe it all boils down to listening to @sabergirl. She always seems to be right about such things!

went for 36- 36.9 to be exact, instead of 38 and it fit ok

This is also my acid test for bottoms.

Nice bum, where ya from?!?

Mine needed a wash sooner than expected and I got a little shrink after a cool wash with 400 rpm spin. More convinced than ever that 34 was the right choice.
I’m case it helps other folks who are unsure about sizing this is what I I got on the two measurements I care most about (initial measurements by IH, post wear and post wash by me).
Waist (in) 34.9 – 35.25 – 34.25
Inseam (in) 35.8 – (not measured) – 35.0
