Ship John

@Mizmazzle I was unsure about the idea of a liner, but I love it. It is a herringbone pattern that is pretty thin. I was worried it would be too thick and take away from the fit of the jacket. It does not. I prefer the lined version for sure.

@Oaktavia Looks pretty beasty man

@Mizmazzle that's what I thought but mine came 11 months early

Looking badass @Oaktavia !! nice and crispy, looking forward to seeing the progress dude! I've found a love for waxed canvas after getting mine, canvas in general!
They are so far ahead on their production, wonder when they will open the books back up.Edit: i guess this is actually twill but still making me eye waxed canvas stuff

I reached out to Ship John yesterday in regards to emails people have missed due to subject headings and junk boxes etc. They were super cool about it and said even if someone misses their email they’re not dropping their order or anything. Just that they’d put them in the next production group once contact is made.
Also, they informed me my G38 group due in 5/25 was probably a handful of months out right now as they are currently on G33!!!
Holy BaJezzus!! -
@Mizmazzle interesting, I’m G42, quoted August of 2025 at time of purchase. I’m going to roughly assume I might see it this coming Summer. My only hope is that they aren’t cutting corners to get these times down. I purchased a “seconds” Ramblin vest about a year ago and can’t find any defects, the quality is phenomenal.

@Dstauffer it looks like it fits you perfectly dude. Pairs well with those pants, what are they?
-
Look like The Shop Y2 Horse?
-
@Dstauffer yup!! This is how it’s done, right here!
-
@Nik is correct, those pants are The Shop Vancouver x Y2 1.3mm natural horsehide saddle pants. TJ over at The Shop Vancouver had been doing a ton of collabs with Y2 and introduced some steerhide leather pants awhile back and then started doing some horsehide. They interested me but were coming up too short in the inseam department (32-33ish range) and I really didn't know if I could pull them off, they are leather pants afterall. And for the price point, I really couldnt justify an item I didn't think I resell. Then midsummer he announced these badboys and that they were coming in 34-36ish inseam and I knew it was a sign.
Fast foward about 4 months, I have been wearing these regularly since late summer and as they've broken in, they've become a favorite regular in my rotation....but I'm still learning how to accessorize them as they do have a different ethetic than denim. I'm looking forward to adding TJ's black teacore variant to my rotation here soon as I've been bitten by the leather pants bug
So to tie this all back to the thread topic (sorry I went off the Ship John topic path), I was so grateful to find the Wills went very nicely with these britches as they both have fairly significant break in times and its nice to be able to wear them both in tandem.

@Dstauffer cool man, you pull them off without a doubt. Oftentimes, the only person that prevents someone from pulling something off is themselves.

100%. So many times I've been hesitant to take a risk clothing wise and then I just jump in the deep end with something, end up loving it, and wonder what took me so long to take the plunge haha
