Mrs and I are halfway through this. Some horrific shit is happening to these Australian kid brothers, but it has real Goonies energy. Very compelling viewing. And I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be laughing at the way Australians talk to one another in this, but I find the casual rudeness and insulting very funny.
-
Yep agreed
-
@Jett129 I’m 2 episodes away from finishing it too, she’s brilliant, she’s great in Ted Lasso too.
-
Has anyone seen The English with Emily Blunt? Trailer looked great.
-
@jiminstitches we watched that series. It's the right length at 6 episodes. In the end I was glad I watched it, as there aren't many good western shows these days, but I wasn't running to tell others to check it out.
-
@pechelman i think we can sum both of our reviews in one word. "forgettable"
-
@pechelman first season was really funny. You will get halfway through episode 1 of the 2nd season and realize what i did... Nothing like the first season and not worth your time.
-
darn
Thanks for the disclaimer @jordanscollected -
@jordanscollected cool I’ll give it a go! I really enjoyed Godless and 1883 was amazing if you’ve not seen those.
-
@jiminstitches Great recommendations and I have seen both shows. Godless was a great story, but the hyper realistic videography took me out of the story a bit if that makes sense. Never seen anything shot so crisp and high definition.
-
@jordanscollected Yeah I know what you mean, bit strange for a period western, id probably watch it again and im ashamed to say I've watched 1883 three times
-
I watched the first 3 episodes of Constellation on Apple TV and it was brilliant! Any one else started it?

If anyone is interested in space, the Apple TV show "For All Mankind" is excellent. It's basically high quality TV drama taking place in the universe of NASA (initially) but in an alternate history where the Russians arrived first on the moon. What is cool is that the writers (who clearly love NASA and the early space exploration history) use this event as a device causing NASA to become a lot more aggressive and risk taking. So this results in more space exploration but also more daring choices in terms of crews, including incorporating female astronauts a lot earlier than in real life. There are key male characters, but also some bad ass female lead roles including a NASA engineer, an astronaut, and an astronaut wife-turned-entrepreneur. I'm loving it.

I’m finding Delicious in Dungeon on Netflix oddly addictive
-
@JDelage agree, I loved this but I’m super interested in space too. I thought the dramatisation of events that didn’t happen would put me off, but it was so well done

Speaking of dungeons, did I tell y’all that the first home showed on the first episode of this Netflix show about building sex dungeons was my friend’s house? She was literally the owner before the couple featured on the show. Another friend discovered this (I have questions) and it is absolutely hilarious to our group just based on the personality involved.
