Watches - another OCD problem
-
@Graeme yes indeed, I have expressed my interest with the AD for the White dial Speedmaster. You know me too well
-
@ddtrash thank you. I love the classic look and history behind this model. From what I understand it was only just recently re-released. The urban gentry is who turned me on to this watch. It was my first mechanical watch. The panda dial is nice as well and I believe has the flyback function.

Green Jacket and a Hulk. I’m a fan.

I just thought about not having bought that Smiths Everest from thrift shop a few years ago ...
If anybody is interested in these old British watches, here's a nice writeup:

I think that specific watch was offered for a few hundred Euros.

@RobeOfTheMagi love it

This is probably my only priced possession. It's the last version of the 114270 before they blew up the dimensions (and altered the proportions of this watch) with the 39mm iteration. This means it has got the venerable 3130 caliber - pure perfection, if you ask me - and the engraved rehaut. Other than that, is's a very simple tool watch in all the best sense.
To my knowledge they went back to 36mm but didn't keep the 20mm lugs that allowed for a variety of strap choices. The bracelet of the 114270 is last century watchmaking, hollow centre links but solid end links. Make of that what you will ... .
It's the watch I wear nearly every day for everything but rock climbing. It found its way to me around the time my son was born and it belonged a late friend of my father's. I like the thought that my son might wear in a few decades :).

@RobeOfTheMagi I also have this Explorer 1 reference and enjoy wearing it. I was lucky enough to be offered one of the first current 40mm versions pretty soon after they were released. The older 36mm with the more basic / less robust clasp is way more comfortable.
-
@ddtrash I have the 36mm as well. It’s a hard watch to beat.
-
@RobeOfTheMagi awesome watch!! I love the Explorer. I was looking at that and the Air King. Got called first from AD on the Air King, but the Explorer is just timeless and classic.

A couple of people were eyeing up the new Tudor GMT. Monochrome has a review, and they like it a lot.
-
Internals and size aside, the polar model is to my eye the best looking one and one of the best looking GMTs period.
-
I love this crazy watch. Usually I have kind of conservative taste in watches but love Einstein and love the whimsy.

IMO Omega has the drop of the year with the white dial Moonwatch ref. 310.30.42.50.04.001
Currently this is my grailed piece, if an AD had one and I had $11k cad burning a hole in my pocket I'd have one on my wrist immediately. One can dream.

Wearing the Nautilus a bit more often now. Most comfortable watch with a bracelet I own.
A combination of the slim light case and small link, flexible bracelet help the comfort level.
