IHJ-136-BLK - Waterproof Jacket - Black
Designed by Haraki-san to offer motorcyclists emergency protection during unexpected storms, this lightweight jacket is an ideal addition to any outdoor enthusiast’s pack. Deliberately oversized to fit over a non-waterproof jacket or coat, we’ve constructed this jacket using a triple layer consisting of a polyester ripstop outer, nylon inner and polyurethane waterproof interlining. With taped seams and a velcro fastening placket covering the main zipper, the jacket will take anything mother nature can throw at it while allowing for compact storage when not in use. To increase versatility, other features include an integrated hood (large enough to fit over a cycle helmet), drawstrings and cinches ensuring a sealed fit, and waterproof chest pockets to keep your phone dry during a downpour.

Really excited for this release!

I've been looking at Arcteryx etc for this sort of thing, but more buzzed about an IH equivalent obvs. It'd be nice in orange or red, but on my radar nevertheless.
-
Is the interlining a membrane like GoreTex or eVent? In other words, is it both waterproof and breathable?

@Alex said in IHJ-136-BLK - Weather Resistant Jacket - Black:
it's not super IH-y
I think that these type of "experiments" are very much part of Iron Heart's DNA as I, for one, associate the brand among other things, with high quality functional clothing. In my opinion, this jacket classifies as such since it ticks both of those boxes - it's high quality and functional. Regardless of whether others appreciate the (admittedly underrated) functional clothing line of Iron Heart as much as I do, I believe that it is very important for the brand's future and survival to continue experimenting, innovating and learning - even if that sometimes means that annoying (at least to me) changes need to be made in order to try and learn new things like e.g. the very functional vertical outer pockets being omitted with the IHJ-79-BLK vs. IHJ-127-BLK.
To clarify my point above with an example: In essence, I believe that the purpose of this jacket is comparable to (or at least it reminds of it) the IH-535 from 12 years ago (damn) which on the one hand is pretty much a "prototype" of the current IHJ-75-BLK / the newly announced IHJ-138-BLK in terms of design, but was made with the same purposes of this jacket (layering over clothing, waterproof etc.)
TL;DR: As risky as it may be to experiment and innovate, and as much as I may dislike the one or other (hopefully temporary) change, I like that IH doesn't shy away from making mistakes sometimes and learning from them.

What ist the water proofness / water column?
I suppose, it has no inner pocket

I think it will be very waterproof. However, because we are not 100% sure, we are going to check it out properly.
I suggested getting someone hosed to oblivion and report back the results. @Alex agreed that it was a good idea, and volunteered me for the hosing.
We are having a BBQ at home next week for the staff, so it will be done pre BBQ.....

@goosehd beat me to it

@Giles Good luck with the test
I'm also looking forward to the video. -
