Definitely more like Ben Stiller.
As for favourite drinks… it is a small place steeped in culture and alcoholism, and paid for by social security checks and illicitly earned currency.
There are other drinks than beer. We serve brown liquor too. The only drink served that requires more than ice and one mixer is Irish Coffee. Wine is served from the box, but never with a smile. There are two types. Neither of those types are rosé or white.
To weigh up for this we have 30 different akevitt’s, 20 different whiskies and a large assortment of dodgy shots, bitters and brandy’s. The beer menu is seven pages deep.
To paraphrase Craig Finn, there’s karaoke and knife fights every other Wednesday night.

We closed up at 2am last night. I worked with a 27 year old called Kenneth who I know from the other side of the bar. He mostly plays computer games and serves drinks. Good lad. Towards the end of the evening Boris (real name Sergei, but you’ve all seen The Wire), came in. He’s 23 and got to Norway from Ukraine 18 months ago. He works there too. Lovely boy. He helped us clean up.
I was given the keys to lock up, and as I turned Kenneth brings out a pre-rolled spliff from a tobacco tin, and Boris fishes three cans of out of date IPA, newly liberated from the back room, out of his jacket pockets. The song, it would seem, remains the same.
