IHSH-397-IND - 21oz Sashiko Work Shirt - Indigo

@Denimminer it’s academic if you’re happy with the fit of one of the two sizes (FWIW I think the large looks better but you could go either way), but you’ll probably get closer to the published measurements if you measure the IH way. I know some retailers measure your way, so it can get confusing!
-
@Denimminer Please see pictures on how IH measures shoulders:
Shoulder: fold the garment in half down the centre so that the back of the shoulder sleeve seams meet to find the centre of the back of the collar. Measure from the top of the arm/shoulder seam to the centre of the back of the collar and then (a) measure back down to the top of the other arm/shoulder seam, OR (b) double this measurement.

Shirt came in today and it's jaw dropping, amazing work. Got my usual IH size M and fit is bang on with room for a heavy T if needed. My camera is garbage so you'll have to take my word for now! Shout out to the team at Iron Shop Provisions for the flawless delivery. So happy with this

@ARNC I don't know how I've been on here as long as I have and always measured the way I showed, hmmmphh. Maybe because I always check other retailers and just knew in my head I wanted 18" across the shoulders so I always looked for that measurement and checked that it was close that way when I got new shirts.
Either way,...i still don't know which to keep. I like that currently I can have the large unbuttoned and it hangs nice, vs the XL I can't do that. Anyone think a hot wash will bring the XL in enough? Maybe I just need to try it on with jeans vs shorts. -
@Mizmazzle These will tone down massively anyhow. Love the asymmetry. ️
-
@Mizmazzle is that the 12mm or the 15mm? Are the button holes on that pocket big enough to accommodate a 15mm seeing as the 12mm is sold out? Thanks in advance. They look sharp!
-
@FourHorsemen it’s the 15mm.
-
@Denimminer I don’t think it will as it’s been One-washed - no shrinkage expected.
-
These are all looking awesome guys @Mizmazzle love the upgraded buttons! Here is mine in my usual L. Got an CL but swamped me
-
Everybody’s looks awesome, haven’t taken it off for a few days.
-
guys you look great!!! it fits you like a glove congratulations @doubletee and @ZackB
-
@Denimminer I was actually going to mention the trying on with jeans vs. shorts when I saw your fit pics. That does make a difference.
I'd be willing to bet that even though it's listed as one washed, no shrinkage, that it will still come in some with a hot wash. The key here is to go slow. Start with a cold wash, line dry, then check....then try a warm wash, line dry , then check...and so on.

The suspense was real with this one. Had to wait 8 days for it to arrive. Like many I felt right in between sizes - Large and XL. But given the measurements, felt my usual size (large) was more likely to work. XL measurements looked bigger than any shirt I own. Overall, the large is a pretty good fit, but I could use .5 inches more in the shoulder. Even with slightly tighter shoulders, I think it’s a keeper and XL would’ve been too big. Those who have had it for a few days, as it softens do you feel more give/space in certain areas? 6’0, 84kg/185lbs, 40.5 inch chest. Appreciate any thoughts!

@indigostiff @americanathreads both of you guys look good. I tossed my large and XL on again just now with jeans, I feel like the XL for me goes on more like a jacket. I'm leaning towards the large now.
