Obviousely he had his hands in songs much better than this one but it's one of my earliest musical memories having heard this playing on my parents alarm clock radio on a random morning in the early/mid 80s

So I was listening to a random selection of songs today and a thought came to me: what's the greatest song that was never released as a single? Not sure if we had this discussion before, but would be interested to hear your thoughts. Strong contenders imo: Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven, Pixies - Where is my mind, Pearl Jam - Black

@Tago-Mago Definitely an interesting question. Some of the more ambitious/longer songs were edited in order to fit on the 45 format. Can’t imagine you could do that with Stairway.

@Jett129 100% agree. I hate the edited version of Heroes for example. Or can you imagine Bohemian Rhapsody in a radio-friendly 3 minute version? Unthinkable, but then again that was released as a single at a whopping 5:55 and it worked
