Excellent reference. If you haven’t already check out Been Stellar. I’m going to see them on Friday. Their new record is awesome.

New Helado Negro is chill af. It pairs well with Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and a bowl. Carry on…

Speaking of chill, I really dig Leon Bridge’s new one. Kind of a paean to his upbringing in Ft Worth. Incredibly relaxing and yes chill.

I was listening to Randy Newman’s “I Love LA” in mourning of the wildfires and was impressed by the guitar solo. Looked up the personnel and it was basically Toto and Fleetwood Mac. Which reminded me to encourage anyone with HBO to watch the Yacht Rock “dockumentary” which is all about the crew of session musicians in the 70s and 80s like those folks.
I wish Jeff Porcaro hadn’t died so young. King of the pocket and effortless, silky grooves. In tribute, a shuffle of shuffles
And of course my favorite:
And him teaching it with modesty and charisma:

@mclaincausey Thank you so much for posting the "Teaching" video. Hearing him break down the beat, say exactly what he was going to play and it looks really easy when he starts to play it. Combining elements from the other 2 versions of the shuffle, and in case that wasn't crazy enough, add in The iconic Bo Diddly beat on the kick drum.
