@Giles I don’t know if you decided to buy the rug, but there is currently one left with a 25% discount.
Apologies for drawing it to your attention if you already bought it at full price.

my escape haven.

@gazza61 beautiful. Where is that? Looks like a lovely view.
-
@mclaincausey It is shanklin on the I.o.w just off the coast of Portsmouth uk.hopefully I will be there permanently soon.
-
@mclaincausey remodel looks really good and I love the flooring/tile.
-
@SKT thanks! We were torn between the cheaper and less maintenance-intensive porcelain black and white version but are glad we sprung for the marble version. Its timeless and classic and reminds of us of the Broadmoor hotel where we’ve had some special times.

Was in Cowes for lunch last Sunday. Pending what happens with Storm Eowyn, we will be in Bembridge or Yarmouth for a night ASAP.....

@Giles lovely fish to eat in Bembridge.I always get my fish from there.

Just got done refinishing my 100 year old oak floors and added some walnut inlay around the edges. We’re almost done with a total remodel.
-
@Go-For-Chill That looks like a perfect billiard room.

Not sure how well my photos will upload. I have some interior ones too, but 1980 split level suburban US house. Didn’t try to make it something it’s not, just kinda freshened it up for today. Actually, it was pretty much a full remodel, but decided not to tear it completely apart(at least the outside)

@northsouthdenimguy Great choice in colours. What's that tree in the driveway? It's beautiful.
-
Assume you’re referring to the Red Japanese maple there’s actually quite a few on the property. This one’s beautiful there’s one other that’s quite a bit smaller that is really special. The lady that owned the house originally was a horticulturist, half an acre just chock full of amazing trees and bushes. things that pop up one year but not the other. It’s really kind of cool.
-
@northsouthdenimguy That's the one. We're currently planning on getting a few more trees around the house, I'll look that up to see if it would suit our needs.

OK, I won’t spam this with too many photos but the main floor and the house in general was just really kind of cut up with smaller rooms. We opened up the living room to the kitchen to the dining room and foyer. installed a giant hidden beam to carry the loads. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of before pictures. I think my wife does even so it’s kind of hard to see what was there before as the rooms were so tight.
But essentially opened up the entire back wall put in fixed windows and doors, plastered the brick fireplace. there’s a hidden pantry on the left side of the kitchen through the double cabinet doors, which is where the green cabinetry with the coffee maker and microwave is located.

@northsouthdenimguy fantastic pad / spread. Kudos!
