Just got this puppy! We are waiting on the results of a DNA test but the rescue thinks she is a Border Collie/Lab mix. I also see maybe some Heeler or German Shepherd.
She is sweet, playful, and very smart. Potty trained her in just a day, already knows sit, crate and place commands. She is going to be a great dog.6 weeks old when she was brought to my local rescue. Ears still floppy
8 weeks old on the day I picked her up last weekend
*EDIT DNA TEST RESULTS!
61.3% Australian Cattle Dog
26.9% Siberian Husky
11.8% German Shepherd DogThis pup is going to have a ton of energy as she grows up!

@Alex We’ve been looking at Boykin Spaniels. They look just like the working dog in your photos, but only get to around 30 lbs. They were bred as water foul dogs small enough not to tip over duck boats when they leap off the side for a retrieve, and small enough for old men to easily pick up and lift back into the boat.

@Go-For-Chill yeah they look pretty similar!

Also check out Kooikerhondjes. They are becoming a little more common, especially since Shohei Ohtani's famous dog Decoy is a Kooikerhondje. -
You guys are making me clucky! I think we're still about 1.5 years away from our next dog due to renovation plans and disrupted living arrangements, but I desperately want another dog. My boxer Hobbes passed to early (8 years old) in 2023 and I miss him dearly.

@sabergirl She's a rescue found with her brother on the streets of central LA. I do the DNA test with mixed breeds just out of curiosity and also for training purposes. No matter what the mix of breeds are in her, she is 100% good girl.
