@KA56 In my experience it is difficult to avoid stretch entirely. Even if you bought jeans too big for you. Unless you were to stand up right and not pitch your body at all, exertion on the waist is largely unavoidable. For example, sitting down in the car, leaning over to pick something up etc.. all instances where you're going to apply some pressure.
The good news is, you can account for this by pre-empting the 1" stretch you will most likely get and picking the appropriate tag size accordingly.
Let's say in this case you grab the Tag 34 and it's nailed on 33.4". I would say it's unrealistic to expect this measurement to stay at 33.4" over time.
If you let the crew know your exact dims and what your target measurements are, they will be able to find you the best pair available.

@scarfmace Nothing in the works at the moment but we're steadily making the 1955 in more denims, 14oz being in production at the moment.
A black 1955 sounds like a sensible idea to me!

Trying on these bad boys as very interested in seeing how these would work for the smaller man and found that sizing down is a great size for me. I take a tag 30 usually and these fit a little too loose for my liking so decided to size down to a tag 29, feeling nice a snug I think these are a great shout for my next purchase! what do you all think of the fit?
-
Wow! Those went fast. Glad I didn't snooze on that. I've been waiting for them for a while.
-
Indeed these went way too fast! Was looking for a 35 in these. Any other options to find this size?
-
@AdamJ appreciate the insight. My issue is always too much room in the waist and not enough in the leg. The waist on tag 33 would likely stretch to be perfect, but I can guarantee that the leg would be too slim even post stretch (for context I tried the tag 34 serge work pants and they were veeeery slim in the seat and thighs).
The measurements on the tag 34 OD, tag 33 indigo are comparable to my current daily drivers (Sugar Cane 1947 in 33) so I'm just looking for reassurance they won't get radically bigger than their initial size.
All that said, I grabbed the 34 already so yolo I suppose

@VW1971 Have you checked the stockists? The Shop Vancouver doesn’t seem to be listed, but they still have 35”s.
-
Wow, those went fast! no 34 left
-
@Mister_Brue When you say Stockists do you mean shops that regularly carry IH? I checked the Self Edge website but they are not listed yet or they are not carrying them. Thanks for the tip on Shop Vancouver. I will check now. Is there a page on this forum that would have which shops placed an order for these?
EDIT- just checked Shop Vancouver and found these in 35!! Thank you Sir! Just made my day. Much appreciated!

@VW1971 the stockists of an Iron Heart product are always listed in the first few posts of that products particular thread on the forum
-
@VW1971 I'm glad you found a pair. I must have just taken the last 35 just before you to tried to buy.

Not strictly so, we do not update that post for restocks, becomes too confusing.
But it is 100% true for new releases.
As a point of fact, Self Edge have never taken the 1955 in any guise.

@Giles got ya
-
I decided to grab these to go with my older 1955 non-OD’d pair. Got the 32 from The Shop (since I missed the 32 here), feeling pretty good about it.
-
Congrats to those who scored. I hesitated on sizing and they were gone in a heartbeat. Here's to a restock!
-
@scarfmace Shop Vancouver still has 34 in stock.
-
Hesitated on the .com…but picked up a pair from The Shop Vancouver(38W)
Looking forward to my first pair of OD jeans

How is the fit on these compared to lower rise pants? I have a pair of 33s on hold but the waist is a bit smaller than my ideal measurement in 666s and 777s (33").
Similar question to @KA56 really, so would be interested to know how sizing worked out for you?
