IH-1955S-OD - 21oz Selvedge Denim "1955" Vintage Tapered Cut Jeans - OD Black

I decided to grab these to go with my older 1955 non-OD’d pair. Got the 32 from The Shop (since I missed the 32 here), feeling pretty good about it.
-
Congrats to those who scored. I hesitated on sizing and they were gone in a heartbeat. Here's to a restock!
-
@scarfmace Shop Vancouver still has 34 in stock.

Hesitated on the .com…but picked up a pair from The Shop Vancouver(38W)
Looking forward to my first pair of OD jeans

How is the fit on these compared to lower rise pants? I have a pair of 33s on hold but the waist is a bit smaller than my ideal measurement in 666s and 777s (33").
Similar question to @KA56 really, so would be interested to know how sizing worked out for you?
-
Thanks Giles, that's what I was thinking - the 1955s should work as my waist is narrower than my hips.

As someone who posts rarely and has purchased many pairs of IH's I felt compelled to post here after recently securing a pair of these 1955's - first time with this cut. I've had the same battles everyone on here has with finding the right measurements within the cuts offered and have settled into a happy spot of mostly 634s with some select 888's. I always seem to need this combo of smaller waist and larger thigh knee combos leading to a couple sweet spot finds and the occasional "size around". 634's tick the most boxes for comfort but if I am honest sometimes want a narrower slimmer hem....(horses for courses right?). These 1955's are right on the f%^$& money for rise and waist. LOVE the 634-ish thigh/knee measures with the 888 taper to hem. I know we all find our own but damn if these aren't the best fitting IH's I've pulled out of the bag. In conclusion - keep doing what you're doing Giles and crew - I will be getting more 1955's in the future. I love all my IH apparel but was more than pleasantly surprised by these. OD is a bonus as it's just an amazing fabric...

Just received my pair. The fabric is so lovely.

Got mine in yesterday. 34 was the right call in these. The waist is a touch loose, but a belt will take care of that. Any smaller and the thighs would've been painted on.
Definitely the best IH cut I've found for my build.

Quick question re the indigo and OD versions of the 1955S. I know the OD version runs a little smaller since the dying process removes all the shrinkage, but will it stay a bit smaller over time (i.e., after several washes)?
I ask because I have a pair of 1955S-21 indigo in size 35 that fit perfectly. The size chart suggests the OD version might be too small. I'm trying to figure out which size to order when the OD is back in stock.
-
^ thanks goosehd. It appears I'm in between sizes on the OD, so, short of passing on all dessert going forward, I'll try to find the largest 35 or smallest 36. Hoping for a restock in 2025.
-
@JohnM . From my experience the OD versions seem to stretch even more than the regular 21oz.
-
I bought my 888 od in my normal size. They were real tight at first but stretched back out quick. It seems to me that the OD shrinkage is real but not permanent. IH just doesn't stretch them back out for you.
-
^ that's probably a good thing Go For Chill
If the OD versions do stretch a bit more, as yannis suggests, I could probably make size 35 work. If not, 36 is the safe bet.

Looking at the chart you posted the differences are pretty small between the regular and od version. I would take the same size od with regular and it will easily stretch to the same size as the regular version and more
