^HOLY SHIT! YOU HAVE A 24-70? That is the lens I think I am going to wind up getting! How do you like it? What don't you like about it? Any buyers remorse? Sorry for all the questions.
Also, how is it? Like is it good, image quality wise?
-
Ah, well looks like I know which lens I am getting next. It was originally going to be the 85 1/2L, but that was too much $$. I think this lens should hopefully do it all.

35mm 1.8 is great for the price

so cris, with the angels that you have @ home i can only imagine the amount of firearms you have on stand-by, hahahahaha
don't answer that
great flicks as always dude. if you were in NY i would like for you to take some photos of my rugrats for me

I couldn't decide which shot I liked more so both are going up. If anyone is wondering I am still using the kit lens, although I am most likely going to buy the 24-70 2.8L.
And then there is this shot, which took me like 20 times before I said enough. The bee wound up chasing me since I was about 6 inches or so away from it trying to get a good macro of it… didn't really work though...

^ Hee-hee…............
Always on stand-by, ya never know what these kids will be doin.
And I'd love to snap shots of your kids if I'm in NY….
Cris.
cris.. what camera apart from that 5D? (full frame).. Any comment regarding EOS 7D? Any recommendation for the lens should i fit on that 7d?

On a 7D since it is a crop camera, it doesn't mean you can't use a prime lens though. But since it is a crop camera, it is better to get a zoom camera or a wider angle lens. It doesn't mean you can't use an 85mm lens, but it will just be cropped and you will probably have to move further back then you would want to. I am unsure of what the actual length would be equivalent to it though.
But I am sure if you list some lenses you would get some advice on which ones you should get and which ones you shouldn't.

I got the 15-85mm EFS.. According to the review from Cameralabs, its one of the general purpose lens.. Planned to get the Sigma 50mm f/1.4.. Any advice? Really love to shoot potrait.. In case i want to upgrade to L series lens? What lens will be suitable for a cropped frame body and general purpose use?
And i recently just bought the 7D

mank
if you wanna shoot portrait a 50mm would work fairly well
I'm too lazy to look up the crop ratio of the 7d but it'll be prolly 1.5 making the 50 equiv to 75mm focal length which is a good general purpose portrait lengthany of those 50/1.4 lenses are gonna be similar in price and performance. I'd prolly stick with a canon but that's just me.
if you're thinking of getting into the L lenses (50/1.2?) I'd prolly be looking into a FF body first. If youre dropping that much on a lens, you may as well take advantage of it.

now if youre gonna use that zoom most of the time and really want a portrait lens for special situations
and your subject is gonna be still (not small kids/action) look into some manual focus (old is fine) stuff in the 75-90 focal length. You could get like an 85/2 for $250 or less that'll shoot a great portrait with nice bokeh and the older glass often has a slightly softer look which lends well to portrait especially faces
