Today, Paula and I did a 7-mile ruck around a part of the harbour that we have not really spent much time in before. On the walk was a lovely little church with the most amazing cemetery, I rather like cemeteries, and this one interested me especially as it has a guardhouse at each of its two entrances, these were built to deter body-snatchers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_snatching) running off with the recently dead in the 18th and early 19th centuries.
This is the oldest I could find, I think possibly the engraving has been protected as it is leaning towards the ground
I don't intend to be buried when I leave this mortal coil, but a word to the wise, if you do, don't bother with a cross, they all fall over….
Further along the foreshore, we came across this reinforcement made out of the sleepers from the now-defunct Hayling Billy line. In the early 60's a twat called Beeching was asked to write a report recommending what we do with our railways. If ever there was a fine example of making the question fit the answer, this was it. He decided that loads of railway stations and branch lines should be closed over the whole of the UK. In the region of 5,000 miles of track and 2,360 stations were closed. I would argue that he did more to destroy the fabric of Britain than the Luftwaffe did in the 2nd world war. If you have not guessed, I am not a huge fan…

We have had some snow recently. Kids wanted a faster sled. Old skis lying around, bent some brackets and drilled some holes. Waiting on the next snow, supposed to be tomorrow. Waxed the skis and doing a snow dance.

that's a beautiful snowfall. How is Norway's road management and snow removal services? are they pretty on top of things?
