@Nocturama my workplace put iut an impact statement but I didn’t know the extent of it. Holy shit.

@Matt said in Baltimore, MD (USA):
This is crazy.
The craziest part is how exactly did that ship hit even the bridge? One would think there would be precautionary measures in place to prevent that kind of thing. Evidently not, or they were sleeping, drunk, loaded in someway.

wow they really didnt get very far from port. Can perhaps see in the track where they lost power and start to drift south.

I understand that it was going quite fast. Which stacks up, a ship of that size and mass needs a shit load of speed to get any steerage at all (you need a large amount of water going past the rudder(s) ). The container ships and car transporters that come up The Solent can be on you in a horrifyingly short space of time....

@pechelman yes, sorry about that. Mind fart

What’s a nightmare.

@Matt & Katie this all sounds exciting and the new house looks wonderful. It's good to be closer to family and friends, but still it was a great adventure that your two beautiful girls will never forget. I wish you all the best for the move and for the process of coming back home, fitting back into what has been yours for so long. Stay blessed, and see you in September!
