all these computer science stuff is beyond me. but it'll be nice to have a mobile layout for safari or chrome, without having to view desktop layouts..

Not sure I understand your concerns, but it sounds like you’re worried that the layout of the forum will change. It will not.
One of the key requirements from our side on the initial implementation is that the layout of the forum stays looking more or less as it does now in terms of the boards and child boards. This should keep the switch over as easy as possible for those who have been on here for a long time.

I believe they were referring to the COVID-19 virus going away and maybe possibly some slight apprehension to fear of the unknown. I think new forum software is a great idea, especially when you consider that IHUK gives this place to us for completely free. I am excited to see what the new platform will be like. Thanks a lot Alex.

How you tag someone on Tapatalk. The @ plus name is coded different in the app. Using this button will allow a proper tag.[mention]Kasi [/mention]
[mention]SKT [/mention][mention]Fadez [/mention] I’ve also had trouble tagging people using Tapatalk on the iPhone. Let’s see if this one goes through.

So, it looks like the tag works when viewing within the app but not on a web browser.

I’m not sure it even works in the app. When [mention]Fadez [/mention] tagged me above, it didn’t notify me anywhere.
Also, is using tapatalk frowned upon? I access the forum on my phone and the web version is challenging to navigate through a browser for me but I do it when I need to tag someone.

It isn’t. But this is one of the main reasons for the migration. The forum is great (if archaic), on a desktop browser. But that does not work very well on a phone.
Tapatalk works on a phone but loses functionality. It also lags horribly at times, crashes, throws hissy fits and is generally a bit pop. So it serves a function but only just.
The hope for the migration is that we will end up with a more seamless mobile/desktop interface with parallel functionality.

Definitely does have problems Tapatalk like you said….
It very annoying
But sometimes you go with what it is…
Even it a great idea moving onto a better platform will be better for the future to come..
A lot of forum members know what I mean.

The forum is absolutely perfect on Google Chrome. I do get the occasional pants down every once in a while.
The only thing I wish for is the ability to resize pictures on the fly (without knowing BB code), maybe code that automatically removes the image in a quoted post. And possibly larger or higher resolution avatars. I have an 8k phone screen and everything is super tiny… I know people told me to get a life, but it's be nice if it was impossible to accidentally mark everything as read too. I do this very often.
