I love most of their collections and usually see them as innovative but I’m disappointed by Division Road’s latest bulletin this morning.
“Battle proofed for life”
“When the world is unsettled there are few things more reassuring than battle proofing your wardrobe”
“…war, work, and ranch ready collection”
Maybe I’m missing something but it feels like they are trying to use the war to drive sales. Fuck that.
-
JFC… They need to walk that shit back.
-
I tried to be politely make them aware and they basically told me to go pound sand. They permanently lost me as a customer.
-
I think that it’s unfair to have this posted on a forum where one of the parties are not active. This should have stayed on instagram or in private email.
What is your goal by doing this? You’ve already said this is your opinion, voiced it via instagram, didn’t like the answer, and are furthering the conversation.
I’m not defending anybody, but addressing how and where this is being handled.
That’s my opinion.

I know Jason personally very well. The very last thing he would do is exploit the war in The Ukraine for petty gain. During the covid lockdowns, he pumped a shit load of his own money into helping small businesses in Seattle, I felt humbled and inadequate compared to him. I think we may be reading a tad too much into his copy….
-
Wasn’t the IH/DR collaboration for the past several years always based around military? Might the link with Ukraine be an unfortunate coincidence that can be read into that copy but is actually reflective of an aesthetic that DR/IH/Wesco developed a few years ago?
-
Can’t speak for their intentions, but seems a little far fetched that they’re using an ongoing war to drive sales. This type of clothing is intentionally built to be tough and hard wearing. I don’t think any of us would’ve raised an eyebrow a couple of months ago to see phrases like “armor” and “battle-proof” used in the marketing material for IH and similar brands. I think maybe we’re all just a little more fine tuned to see this kinda stuff now that we’re witnessing distressing events on the daily.
-
@goosehd thanks for the feedback. I hear what you are saying. I think I just reacted emotionally - I will keep that in mind next time.

@68degreesorless Thank you, and I’m glad you understand. Our community is a very special and unique relationship. For the most part, we don’t mean ill will or harm to each other, and often go out of our way to help and support each other.
We are stronger as a group and happy to have you a part of it.
