IH-634S - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
@endo Thanks a lot mate. I made the products comparison on the IH site, and the waist measurements are different on the 2 types so I wondered. Thanks again.
-
After wearing the 634, I do not want to wear anything else. None of the other cuts work our for me. I will get another pair of 634 soon. Just having a juggling between either the UHR or the regular 210z.

First wear on Dec 1st ‘22. Probably 275 wears since and 6 or 7 washes.

@TexasCrane Very nice

@AdamC how far away are we from restocking these?
-
@Alex thanks Alex.

A couple question for those of you that cuff your jeans.
Do you find that they fray more quickly than jeans that are hemmed?
And, do you worry about it?
-
@jreast80 I do not worry about it as jeans fray and can be repaired. As to how quickly it depends on a multitude of factors with the jeans length being the biggest factor.
I find that a cuff will wear faster than a hem, but it really doesn’t matter as they can be fixed or I just live with it as it gives the jeans character.
-
@goosehd how do I find a good/reliable repair shop? I love the cuffed look, but they do seem to fray much quicker than hemmed jeans - but if that’s easily repairable, I’m all about cuffin.
I’m in Boulder, CO if anyone knows a local place.

@goosehd well that’s awesome! Thanks!

How far away is the restock on this one?

Notifications set.
Although I’m embracing the indigo fades from our Canadian winter, I want a pristine pair with no “snowflake fades” lol

The W32 looks better on you. I like the silhouette of it a lot more than the W31. As someone who wears and loves the 634S fits, I personally think that it shouldn't fit (too) slim but rather loose and relaxed. There are better (and more) options if you wanted a slimmer pair of jeans. Everyone has their own preference on that though…
I also agree with what @going_to_battle says - I also have settled for tighter pairs and have regretted it down the road as, yes, the waist stretched to the point where I was okay with it but the rest didn't feel as comfortable in proportion.
I've listened too many times to people telling me to size down and go with the slimmer fitting jeans, that they'd stretch to the point where I'd feel good. Never was the case. With my current 634S I chose to go true-to-size/ a size up from what people would've told me to go with and I'm absolutely satisfied after almost a year in them.
TL;DR: If you want a slimmer look go with the W31, if you want a loose and relaxed fit go with the W32. Choose whatever you feel the most comfortable in.
I realize this is an old post but I felt it’s worth a bump, and a few of my thoughts.
I’ve read through this entire thread, and the above post is where I land on sizing.
Respecting of course, that every wearer is different. I have had the exact same experience in terms of sizing and stretch. I didn’t seem to get any waist stretch whatsoever when I buy these jeans true to size.
I guess maybe because I’m a bit older, lazier, (insert other adjectives here), but why would I want to try and “stretch” the waist into a comfortable size, when I can just buy them to a comfortable size to begin with?
In my mind, stretching the denim puts the material, seams and stitching under undo stress.
Also as for sizing, I find the IH charts to be incredibly helpful. The one caveat I would mention, is that if you’re measuring a pair of jeans that fit you comfortably so as to compare them to the size chart to select your fit … consider if the jeans you are measuring have any Lycra or “stretch fabric” in them. They might measure to a certain size, but when you wear them, they might stretch out to a bigger size. This is what I found with my first pair of IH denim compared to the Diesel jeans I used to wear.
