@WhiskeySandwich That's crazy that swallowtail landed on his face like that. I went to Shepherd Uni during my undergrad...spent some time down on the Potomac and now I live right on the river a bit north of Shepherdstown.
-
@Oaktavia Yeah, I guess it liked him. The other one landed right on my hand too.
Its a great spot up there! I love the Potomac that far north. We have family right around the corner from there and try to make it up as often as we can.
Actually, my grandfather who lives up that way is an artist who has works all over the state. Paint and sculpture. Check out Endion Art if you get a chance. Your line of work.

Oh nice, he is in Sharpsburg, MD. I pass through there everyday on my way to and from work.
-
@Oaktavia Yup! Man I love it up there. You're in a good spot dude. I've been going up there to visit since I was a kiddo, always nice.

@Twistlock pretty neat camo..."moth camo" would be a neat pattern for a textile.

The picture is unfortunately only a zoomed in still of a short video I filmed with my phone at my parent's house. At first I got really excited because I was under the impression there is a humming bird in my parent's garden, which is highly unlikely.
I did some research and found out that it is a hummingbird hawk-moth - such an incredible creature! It was floating while drinking from a blossom.
The second picture is taken from wikipedia.
