Day 4 - a more intimate in the round performance tonight.
If a band drops names like Snarky Puppy and Cory Henry as influences/reference points they have to be good or stupid. I’m pleased to report that Tucan are far from stupid! Picking up on a discussion elsewhere, they also had two drummers - the second one was opposite me and a real joy to watch.
-
And day 5 - the late one (doors at 9pm)! Glad I went but my least favourite so far and the venue was absolutely freezing!
Anyway tonight was Warmduscher. I think I would have enjoyed them more if tonight was a standalone night out and they certainly seemed to go down well with the crowd.
Technically it’s already day 6, but more of that on Saturday night …

lol now that’s a band name!

Day 6 - the last one for now (and the first booked) was a great end to the week. I’ve wanted to see William the Conqueror for ages and they didn’t disappoint. Ruarri, Harry and Naomi were clearly having a great time and took everyone along with them and the venue (The Garage, Islington) was the perfect size for them.
Also the merch was on another level - an actual novel!

Another good one
Hoping to see the Portland stop this spring
